I just ate the most mouth-watering poutine ever!

Don't know if the Vietnamese dude in his chip truck put MSG in the gravy but this was the best ever for me, by far, and I've eaten a lot of poutine in my life. Just the right texture too for the fries. Not too hard, not too soggy. Like I've died and gone to heaven. ()🙂 Filet mignon would taste like pablum right now.

ive never had but god, i want.

maybe one of these days i'll go to canuckistan to see what you guys are talkin aboot.

mmm...Poutine. I was introduced to this delightful dish from the exotic lands of the Far North after a long night of drinking in Windsor when I was 19. I was excited when our department admitted a new graduate student from Canada, as I knew she would eat poutine with me. We are eating poutine next week. It will be delicious. Thank you, Canada, for your incredibly unhealthy and incredibly cromulent culinary concoction.

I actually find New York Fries' poutine pretty decent when its piping hot fresh.
But I haven't had too many hand crafted bowls of cheese-fry soup, I really need to. So good.

You don't have to go all the way to Canada. You can stop in Maine. Duckfat in Portland makes very good poutine. Fries made properly (blanched then fried) in duckfat, fresh cheese curd from nearby, and duckfat gravy. Quite excellent.

ok i had to look it up since i have never heard of it... it looks disgusting! ...but it sounds really good. but not something you want to eat often.

On the campus at Univ of Pittsburgh, we have the Original Hot Dog Shop, or Dirty "O" as we call it, they serve fries with cheese and brown gravy. The cheese they use is cheese wiz-ish and the gravy is moderately thick. Some like one or the other, but both is best IMHO.
