That's still watching TV.i do download a lot of stuff thats on TV, like Simpsons and Family Guy, plus "the news" (Bill Maher, the Daily Show, etc), but only on my pc.

I'm not. And I do.These days the guy would have to constantly mention that he's not on Facebook.
Can't relate to people who aren't up to date on current world and local events. I watch local/national news, sports and maybe a couple of shows. I find it hard to have a conversation with people who aren't aware of what's going on in the world and also of what surrounds them locally on a daily basis, unless it's about philosophy, history or something along those lines. Of course with the internet these days, if something world wide is going on you'll find out eventually. To each his own I suppose.
I found TV to be about the worst media available to enlighten one's self about current events. Lazy, sensationalist nonsense is the best one can expect from televison reporting. At the worst, deliberate lies repeated by shrieking bimbos and douchebags.
Whoa, that's still watching. Using your example, I haven't watched live tv since the late 70's. VCRs & DVRs for the win.I stopped watching live tv 6 years ago and counting.
