at the beginning of the summer, i had two tires slashed.. took almost a week to get new ones becuase nobody in this area carries 17" tires in my size... tghank god insurance covered it though.. it was a pain in the ass, but i lived.

well now it happened again, only this time i ran over a freakin screw right next to the side wall of the tire-- took it NTW, they cant fix it-- nobody in the area carries these tires, its going to cost 213 dollars to have it ordered and replaced, and i'll have to wait another week!!

god dammit. this really pisses me off.

so now i'm without a car for a week, and have no idea how i'm going to get back to school tomorrow becuase i cant drive 200 miles on the donut. :|

Tire want flooey on me today. Slam flat a few blocks from home, making the lovely flubba flubba sound, it's raining, and the front door lock is broken. All needs to be fixed asap. Bleh. :disgust:

well-- here is the deal though-- its an increadibly small leak-- becuas the screw plugs up the hole. i was only losing about 5psi per day. Not truly flat. So i may just keep the tire on their and drive around with it until i get the new one, and keep an eye on the tire pressure daily.

i'm just worried about blowing out the tire and causing some serious damage if i do that.

Dont do that... with that screw in there the integrity of the tire is already compromised... if you go on the highway or drive at high speeds (and especially since u have a long trip), the tire gets pretty hot and the pressure will raise quite a bit... u risk blowing the tire completely (worst if it happens on the highway), and then u gotta worry about replacing your rims and other stuff as well...

why dont u put your spare on and drive around on that for a week?

i have to go back to school (came home for the weekend) tomorrow.. 200 mile trip. no way i'm taking the donut out on the highway:|
so i'll have to leave my car here, get my parents to take care of it for me, get a ride to school tomorrow..
then get a ride back home next weekend to pick up my car.

agh

go to salvo's or pepboys or whatever you have in your area

buy hole plugs for the tire

follow the instructions and the hole will be fixed
You have no idea how many "non repairable" tires that me and my old man have fixed with the tire plugs.

In the very least it will hold until your new tire arrives.

cant, becuase the screw had damaged the sidewall of the tire, i wouldnt trust a plug to fix that on a 150 mile trip back to school this week.

i've considered that.. to much money though.

can you even fit one in there without killing your trunk space?

whats up with companies calling a half-width spare "full-size"?

i can fit one in there, but you're right-- it would completely kill my truck space.

i had worse...

I had a tread seperation on a firestone tire... Driver side front.. did about 2250 in damage, plus $450 for new tires

Tire wasn't a recall either. :(

And of course Bridgestone/Firestone didn't do a thing about it...

Put on the donut. What do you think it was made for? :D

And never use that spray in crap. Your tire changing guy will kill you. That stuff is flamable, and takes forever to clean off of the rim and sealing surfaces. I would b!tch slap you if you came into my shop with slimed tires :D

The donut is made for speeds up to 55 MPH with a fully loaded vehicle. You are not going to hut your car by wearing the donut.

I would not repair that and drive any measurable distance. It's possable that the sidewall will blow and you will have to get a new rim. Would that stop me from repairing one like that in my truck? Hell no. But I am not going to recomend that you do it. I don't need your lawers breathing down my neck :D

the donut is on my car-- the probably is that i need to go 150 miles back to school. not on a donut. i'm just going to wait it out and go carless for a few days until i get a new tire.
