That wasn't a possibility. Broadway has a median that my car can't cross. This was by the McDonalds off of north/broadway if you know where that is.

Also realize that if the cops didn't come there was very little we could have done to help our friend. Run the kids over? Come on.

p.s. I don't think he's racist he just said some things in the heat of the moment.
 
You made the right choice by leaving an out open for your friend. Don't listen to all the pseudo-bravery in this thread about how they would have run out to engage, UNARMED, in a 3 vs 15-20 against opponents that may or may not have been carrying weapons. Anyone above who says they would have jumped in is an absolute tool, unless they are quite physically capable and trained to fight a mob of people. Most black belts in TaeKwonDo or Karate couldn't take on just a simple, flat out mob rush. I'm glad your friend is OK, but you should tell him that next time that happens, it's better to help in a way other than trying to fight something you'll know will end in tragedy. Hell, just driving near them and yelling lots of racial slurs at them to draw their attention to allow the guy to perhaps get away would have been a much better option.
 
/me volunteers all the dumbass posters in this thread to head down to the ghetto and play mediator between the gangs in their state. Those of you who really think you'd interfere in something like that w/o knowing the circumstances (besides doing the more sane calling of 911) really are delusional and/or 12 years old.
 
It seems like if you really want to help someone in that situation, there are much better ways to do it. Your friend might have had the right motivation, but he was kind of a dumbass.
 
he should have waited until they were all in the same general vicinity and Force Push on all of them. then he could rescue the druggie in distress and take him to a hotel for some hot buttsecks.

was that really necessary? that was totally undue, and that combined with tooting his own horn about his bravado makes your frined a racist nut with too much ego. he might have had good will to save the guy, but either case he is a racist asstard.
 
I think if someone wants to take on a group of guys that's his own decision. What's NOT cool is drawing his "friends" into his own crusade.

What he should have done is said "Hey I think we should help that guy out" and when you all said "WTF R U crazy?" and kept driving, he coudl have sulked and called you pussies the rest of the way home.

You don't put your friends in a position like that. I can't fault you for not hanging out with him any more.

if he was drunk though, it's another story. sometimes your noble impulses get the better of you when intoxicated.

Legally and ethically, that would be an option; the more difficult part is making sure you got them all, cause the ones you miss are gonna be plenty pissed.

Hey, the way I see it, if the white guy getting chased was a heroin addict, then these animals probably weren't model citizens. And by acting like a bunch of subhuman animals, they deserve to be labeled as such. Look, like it or not, there are decent, law abiding people of all races. And then you have the "awesome people", whether they be white, black, asian, orange or whatever. You act like a "great person", expect to be called one.

Label me a racist if you want. I'm just not afraid to NOT wave the P.C. flag every chance I get, and I call it the way I see it.

n!gger is a word that was used to define black people, and by you calling non-black people n!ggers is saying that black's are the lowest of the low, and even the best black person can not be as good as a good non-black person

yea i know the area, but even the fact that he said it in the heat of the moment demonstrates that he represses any urges to call people those names when he's not in a rage

I am just about as least PC as it gets. I openly admit I do not like homosexuality of any sort, for one thing. what is your definition of n-word anyway?

Not exactly smart, but much more admirable than your reaction to his attempt to stop a gang beating. Next time you're being chased by a gang of thugs, let's hope someone as stupid as your friend shows up.
 
I'm sorry, but we can't have the N word on ATOT. It's simply not appropriate, even if you put it in quotes and discuss it like a scientist analyzing a dead cat. It makes me, and many others very uncomfortable.
 
so what did you think you should have done? just kept driving?... not saying that what your friend did was the smartest thing to do, but at least he did something...
