I have literally no money right now

Society today is rife with people who can't properly manage money. It still boggles my mind they don't teach this in school.

I agree and I think it would be far more valuable than some of the things they are teaching. I graduated many, many moons ago and they didn't teach it then either so it's not like it's changed.

Same. My parents did.

Hey, Ma, can we have....
"Do you have any $$?"
Nope.
"Did you rake the neighbor's yard like they asked?"
Nope.
"Well, you must not want it then."

+1 for Mom.

Yeah, it was taught at home. But I do remember when first being out on my own realizing I had no idea how to balance a checkbook. I did some how manage to do so though. But I had a girlfriend at the time that told me she actually closed her bank account from time to time so she'd know how much money she had. Evidently only the people at the bank were smart enough to figure it out... Pretty amazing.

My high school offered two economics electives, one dealt with supply/demand and most of the stuff covered in a college micro-economics class. The other was a "how to balance your checkbook, how do savings acounts and loans work?" type class. When a bunch of senior honors students signed up for the checkbook class the teacher and the guidance counselor though we were slumming. A couple of us pointed out that we would be living on our own in a few months and that we needed to learn this stuff.

I lost my wallet somehow the other day.

I couldn't imagine how I would have survived if I didn't have my emergency cards and a bit of cash.

Well, this is good news for me then! I know that I can be a broke bum in NYC and still "bang dozens of chicks" like OP has!

That was almost 10 years ago, where did the time go?

It's hard to work in that business without proper representation:

there are varying degrees of no money.

"no money" as in no cash laying around the house?

"no money" as in no cash laying around the house, or in the bank?

"no money" as in no cash laying around the house, bank, or retirement accounts?

"no money" as in no cash laying around the house, bank, retirement accounts, and no possessions to pawn off?

Chronology is important here. Maybe he spent all his money banging dozens of chicks, and has just begun a new chapter of poverty and sexual frustration that will define the remainder of his life.
