I don't agree with the settlement, I'm tempted to shred the thing and mail the remnants back to the adjuster.

Think that's wise?

That's just silly. You don't shred checks unless - well let's not go there! :p

Contest the settlement if that's what it is. You can always appeal.

I tried cashing it at the bank and when I endorsed it - I wrote FOR UNFAIR SETTLEMENT under my signature.

They didn't pay me.

Blah blah blah, everyone's heard your rhetoric over and over again. If you refuse to see how f'ed up you are in the head, that's your problem -it's your life that you're screwing up!

You shouldn't be involved with the settlement at all considering that you're neither legal counsel nor your parents who actually owned everything and busted their ass trying to keep a roof over your head so you could grow up and be a total jerk to them.

It was MY car, asshole. See: http://pics.apartment808.com/users/dukeofurl/IMG_0989.JPG

Besides that, my lawyer tells me that I should settle it myself, otherwise he takes a third and I get hit pretty bad.

This wouldn't happened to be related to the telephone poll/curb that jumped out in front of your newly purchesed Primo Neon, would it? :disgust:

I prefer the term "failure to yield"

I think ATOT prefers, "OMG, I bought a Neon and must cash out at the insurance companies expense.". I could be wrong... This thread needs a pole!

Their insured drives into my general direction, and his insurance shouldn't pay me? That's rich.

What the hell can you possibly be unhappy about? You got the value of the sh!tty car PLUS $8500 for "medical bills," right?

You suck at life. What did you do to get a better settlement BEFORE they sent you the check? Our insurance company offered us less than our car was worth when it was totalled, guess what we did? We found private party ads for our car with comparable options and mileage and they offered us an extra $3000!

And stop referring to your daddy's lawyer as "your" lawyer.
