Nice job Rollo.

This guy has been a pest since he showed up on the AT video forum...

First, with the constant multiposting...

http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=31&threadid=1341137&highlight_key=y

http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=31&threadid=1340866&enterthread=y

http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=31&threadid=1341002&enterthread=y

And now, he's berating longtime members for calling him on his BS...

Go ahead and flame me, chief... But, if you want to offend me you'll have to do a little better than this...

I have to say I'm impressed by the board for the support on this.

I'm pretty sick of the "I welded a can of cold beer to my new video card and tripled the core speed with Powerstrip. The damn thing won't post now so I have to RMA it. Third time this week!" type posts.

Thanks to all of you, especially those who took the time to email MSI and newegg!

People like this need to realize there are consequences for their actions, and that when they steal from vendors they steal from all of us.

No, he needs the kinky mod to tell him what to do with the disfunctional graphics cards.

Now his behaviour I am not defending as I can tell you I have been quite annoyed with his posting here as well (and have told him so in person!) I truely at times am not at all happy with his behaviour on this forum. For a young teenager (13) getting this new system for a grad present, I believe he has really blown a gasket at times and is really going overboard in many respects with his constant spewage re: this forum and it's members! Matt, I am not happy with this, esp. since I have told you already that it was pissing me off as well.

Now that all being said, fellow members I can tell you that he has honestly not done anything like bios soft-modding or GPU cooler replacing on any of his video cards. His new 9800Pro is in fact over heating at stock speeds and has been since he has put it into his system. I know this for a fact. The 5900XT that he had in his system simply was not giving him what he wanted for performance, certainly nothing like the review sites on which he based his decision to buy one. Last I knew, customer satisfaction was not poor reason to do a return at any store in the lower 48.

So in this respect, your emailings to NewEgg and MSI should not go punished as there is at least one person that will attest factually that he did not do anything other than software utility overclocking, and at much lower oc's than others post.

So, ban him for his behaviour, you'll not get any argument from me on that, but I will not support the emails to MSI and NewEgg as his returns to both were legitimate.

He posted in his own words that his 9800 was clocked higher than a 9800XT. How much did he pay you to post that? Are you a friend of his? Go away and let us deal with this matter as it needs to be dealt with. You weren't with him 24/7 for the past few weeks while he was busy destroying his card. For all you know he could have overclocked and modded his cards when you weren't there, then covered the whole thing up by putting the stock cooling back on the card.

hmmm, good point. I haven't been with im 24x7. Have you ever been with him for even 1 minute? I believe these forums allow for more than just singlesidedness. Correct? So, no, I am not going away. The manner in which it needs to be dealt with will be decide by the mods, not you.

Now I am saying go for the ban. Heck I will even sign up for it. Just make sure you have all of your facts crystal clear when you send those emails off to Newegg and MSI. Otherwise you are just doing as much of a disservice as he has done do this forum. What good is that?

Didn't I see in a post that you are his uncle, Magratton?
What do his parents think of him stealing from vendors like this?

As far as "legitimate returns" goes, when the guy asks if he can put a cpu hsf on a vid card, then asks for other ways to OC it even higher than he has, I'd say "Warranty Voided".

He may have graduated from the sixth grade, but he hasn't learned much about ethics.

All that we're doing is emailing Newegg and MSI these exact threads. He wrote every single post himself and there's no taking it back now or denying that it was him that wrote the stuff. We're not fabricating anything; we're just making a conclusion based on what he posted himself.

No Rollo, being unethical is when you actually do something that is unethical. Thinking about it does not imply performing said action. It also does not void any warrantee agreement that I know of.

I am certain if I search this forum I will find that you have posted some question or replied to as to how to perform some type of mod. Does that make you unethical. Come on now.

And I am not his uncle. I am merely a relative, and not even a blood one at that. You have flamed him, you have written to the mods several times from what I can see. You've done your duty. Going to MSI and Newegg was going beyond and uncalled for when you do not actually know for sure what was done. Do you do that for everyone that you come across who has watercooled or added ramsinks to their cards?!? Unlikely, and it should not have been done in this instance either.

Lol out of curiosity I did a google lookup on donacki and it seems there is only one living in Derry, NH (and there is also a gratton family living 3.6 miles away). I suggest someone call up his parents and ask them to talk to their son about his morals...
