It's not a bad idea, but really not my taste. I want something I'll use in practical applications.

Then SLR, definitely, they are awesome to own, and If you'd get the use out of it, you shouldn't be without one.

On a side note, do you have a good TV/ Monitor?

Damn, someone actually gives a decent advice and he ignores it but quickly replies to those who give shitty replies.

On a side note, I wasnt suggesting that comic, but an investment that you would enjoy owning, maybe an old guitar, or a first edition book, I don't really know what your into but owning something that speaks to you and holds its value is a great thing.

My other suggestion would be, buy something that every kid will want this christmas, then wait a week and stick it on ebay, you'll make a killing, I did it a couple of years ago with a Wii, bought it for £179 sold it for £410...

Just googled cream of corn, that sounds disgusting.

Glad to see you have finally learned to use google for your 1,000's of questions that seem to derail threads. Way to go
Now you just need to learn to keep your little discoveries to yourself. We don't really care that you didn't know what cream corn was, or that you found the definition on your own and that you think it sounds gross. Good for you, but really not necessary to share it.

And to the OP, if you don't really need anything or want anything everyone has suggested, why can't you save the money for a rainy day when you may actually need it or want something?

It seems investing would be your best decision.

It has to go towards something just for me. It cannot be something like furniture, paying rent, being saved, etc. It's basically a $1,000 that I have to spend on something(s).
