Assjack....is the a new type of cereal?

Hahahah, caught redhanded. That's the word my friends and I invented in college. Ever since then we use it between each other jokingly. It's like jackass, only milder.

Look on the back of his AC unit it should tell you the wattage the unit uses per hour. So for example if he is running it 24/7 then calculate the energy usage.

So if it uses 100 watts a hour the 2400 watts per day /1000 will give you the kilowatt hours used for a day * the price per KW/hr. Charge him that everyday and split the other utilites equally:D

ps. the equation maybe off because obviously the AC unit will hit a set tempurature were it gets turned off but you can get a watt metre that will actually tell you how much energy an appliancece is using. THey cost arouund $70 though.

Cheers,
Aquaman

Anyone who links to weather.com has no business telling ANYONE ANYTHING EVER. That is the absolute most terrible and inaccurate weather station and website ever put together. May God have mercy on your soul.

NWS forecast which is much more accurate, and lends way more credibility to the fact he is probably hot.

Hey, I think you and your buds are a couple of cheap ass bitches. Get the volt meter as Viper suggested if you are so worried. Personally, I run the AC when it gets over 72 inside. I am not worried about outside. As long as the inside stays 72 or colder I am fine. Considering it is hot as hell outside right now, it is on full blast. The power difference is not even something I worry about. Some people don't like to be fvcking hot. You call him inconsiderate, yet you and yours friends are pretty inconsiderate yourselves.

Transfer the particular utility to his name.

Pay only the parts you think you guys deserve to pay.

Let him handle the rest or get his ass kicked by the utility companies.

Crap. You choose to run your AC when it gets over 72 (weak, BTW). They do not get the choice as it is in his room and they feel no benefit from it.

I can clearly see why they don't want to pay for his comfort out of their own pockets.

How innaccurate is that site? It says it is 30 F in Chicago. It hasn't been that cold here for months!

wow a whole 2 degree difference

you don't get it, if you walk outside, it long pants weather - an air conditioner is totally unnecessary. that's why it's so annoying that he just constantly runs it. the fact that you're a p*ssy like him who can't stand temperatures higher than 72 degrees is irrelevant

how are we incosiderate to not want to pay for his wastefulness?

weather.com gets weather info from airport weather stations in many cases, which are extremely accurate as far as temps, winds, and clouds.

But it's harder to say. That defeats the purpose in my opinion. ;)

Why is he inconsiderate? From what you have said, it is you and the other roommates who are trying to tell him what he can and cannot do who are being inconsiderate.

all we do is try to tell him to not be wasteful with the AC. that is all.

Why is he inconsiderate?
OK, here's the list:
- never cleans the bathroom
- dumps bong water in the sink instead of the toilet , making the bathroom reek for days at a time
- never takes out trash (thinks he can just throw it on the first floor and we'll take it out)
- he never buys bathroom stuff like soap or toilet paper, we're like his god damn parents or something
- always smoking up
- leaves dirty dishes in the sink
- clogs the drain with food (apparently our garbage disposal is too complicated a device)

thats all that comes to mind right now. but again, who is inconsiderate here?

You are! Some people get hot dammit! Why should they have to pay money for their air conditioning??? What are you, a nazi?

Anyhow, just make the Effer pay the bill or boot him out of the house. Or take his bong hostage and only let him use it when the AC is off. Either will probably do.

Have you actually tried talking to him, about paying extra or doing all those things you listed?

It maybe that he's not trying to be inconsiderate but just doesn't realize it, I've come to the conclusion that it's wrong to assume that people won't take anything for granted because they will especially if you live with them.

you are missing the point. since we split the electric bill 5 ways, he only has to pay 1/5 for all this waste, while the other 4 guys who are responsible about their usage eat 4/5 of the cost of his waste. how does that make us inconsiderate to not want to pay for his slightly increased comfort when we see no benefits?

yes, we talked several times about not using the ac when a fan would be just fine. not about paying because like i explained earlier, there's too many variables that could affect the bill and it wouldnt be fair. and one of those voltage meters would be pointless because we'd be paying money to save money.

It maybe that he's not trying to be inconsiderate but just doesn't realize it,
thats what i figure. he doesn't know what the temp is outside cause he never leaves the f*cking house
