Also, tipping is a terrible system that enables large-breasted blondes in arbitrarily selected service industries to siphon money from hard-working Americans. It needs to stop.

cashier does his job, gets no tip. waiter does his job, gets tip. barista does his job, gets tip.

at least the cashier and barista are making more than minimum wage, unlike the waiter. the waiter gets a tip for the quality of his service, since it will make or break your dining experience. walking up to a counter and ordering/ paying for something isnt even in the same realm as actual food service. ifucking hate the word barista.

im a programmer. even when i put cool little tidbits or easter eggs that make them laugh in a project i dont get tipped, and that would be considered "above and beyond" IMO

Life is not fair, get used to it (you are long overdue if you still haven't figured that out).

Remember, many restaurants treat waiters as slaves. Many don't even get paid and their only source of income is tips.
