My account no longer exists according to STEAM

WTF

i want to play HL2 DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

note that i sent to Valve

"Hello, i have been using steam ever since CS 1.6 came out, i purchased the STEAM silver edition on 10/10/2004 16:03:39. I have an email you sent me confirming this, plus visa information that the transaction went through. I played on STEAM without any problem untill today. After i had preloaded it, i quit steam and restarted my computer, it wanted me to log in manually rather than automatically, so i did, but then it told me that i could not connect to the steam network. I was playing Day of Defeat earlier without any problem and did not have any trouble. So, i figured i would get it to reset my password, so i go into steam to get it to reset my password and it says that my account (deleted) does not exist. What is the deal? I want to play Half Life 2 and it wont let me after i had preloaded it and bought it and everything.......

can you guys help me resolve this?"

dont hate valve. i just ended my 5 hour HL2 stint, and i am awed, its not only the best looking game EVER, its hella fun, tops off hl1 🙂

Did you see my problem with Steam, Schadenfroh? Messed up! Boy, just when I thought it looked like they had their sh!t together (aside from some expected slowness of the servers)...

I feel bad for the people who bought the CD/DVD version and have to wait 20-80 minutes just to create a Steam account, though. That's pretty lame 🙁 .

The problem often is often residued between the keboard and the monitor.....

j/k 😉

Sorry to hear man......

Same here ! Lots ofpeople are experiencing this.

Look in your C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\errorlogs folder:

Error:Steam error: SteamProcessCall(Login)(0xab000d,0x19efc04,0x19efd0c) failed with error 200: Failed to find Master AuthenticationServer

Function trace:

LOL, I just replied to the offical thread about me installing it. I got to finish the steam set up account part and boom! Winsocket error connection reset by peer . I'll just keep redoing it, but wow, what a pain in the ass.

I read over on the IGN boards that apparently Vivendi bought Steam and that today there was a server modification after noon (presumably by Vivendi). Regardless, this afternoon is when all of these problems started to happen...

Took me almost 2 hrs from when I loaded the first disc til I was playing, I just kept Hammering away at their servers until they took my reg and unlocked the game. G/L

ok...so I created an account but now when I go to play it, it takes me back to steam. Argh and now my registration key is invalid? *pissed*

Since I got home I have not beend able to log into steam. Its says that there is either a problem with my connection or steam is down. Since I played just fine this morning and I am typing this right now I am gonna guess its something wrng with Steam.... I hope this gets fix soon though. Its BS that I can't play HL2 a single player game because something is wrong with the steam network IMO.

Hope ya get it straightened out with Valve, Schadenfroh. I fired it up this morning before work and played around with the physics for about 10 minutes. Amazing. In fact, I'm going to go play for a bit.

Good luck! 🙂
