I just bought the CD version today. Think I should wait till this weekend before installing it? Will the bandwith mayhem and problems be resolved by then ya think?

yay, finally managed to log into steam again.

very annoying how it keeps losing the settings for the offline steam thing. this time i've backed up the ClientRegistry.blob thing like it says in the support faq. hope it keeps working now, going to try to remember not to run hl2 when connected to the internet until theres some patch or something i want.

Hmm, never had any Steam login problems, but then again I logged in this morning (9am EST) and unlocked my HL2 preload and never logged out until 7pm. 🙂

Maybe newer Steam accounts have less priority than pre-registered ones.

The game is awesome so far, despite the stutters I've experienced. Come back and report if you have the stuttering problem so many of us seem to be plagued with. 🙁
