I hate thieves so much.

My uncle went with his family, and my cousins family on a trip to Houston. 3 days only, thursday-saturday. Well, on Friday, someone broke into my uncle's Chevy Suburban, and stole his Pioneer Navigation stereo. He has the alarm with the 2 way pager that notifies you if someone is messing with your car, but he was far away from the vehicle, so he was not alerted of anything.

It was a very expensive stereo. sigh.

I bought a springfield xd9. I have a garage. if someone breaks into my house/garage/etc then a 147gr hydro shok personal protection round will save me from them doing ANY harm to me when I bust open my door to my garage/house.

That sucks, so much for that alarm being of any use🙁 Helpful hint for some of you to consider. My boss has had his vehicle broken into more than once so he made his own alarm/theft deterent system. Razor blades strategically placed on the under side of the dash where thieves will grab for in the darkness when trying to remove valuable equipment. he hasnt had the pleasure as of yet of finding pools of blood, but his fingers (pun?) are crossed.

Insurance won't cover it?

Don't know. That's all the info that I have gotten. I'm not sure if he even filed a police report. I'll find out soon though.

Probably not, with the deductable might not be worth it I'm guessing...

What sucks is that this is the second time. But the first time it was broken into, they stole his laptop, right in front of where he was eating at. (Golden Coral.) It was his fault mainly because he did not have an alarm at the time. Funny thing is, he OWNS a car audio shop, so it would be common sense to put an alarm on that Suburban.

Fvckin' thieves. Once had my spare tyre stolen off a 1/2 ton. Now I still fresh fruit whenever me gets hungry. 😕

It's not the alarm company's fault. The remote reaches the antenna only within 1 mile. Obviously, my uncle was not in that range.

ok, I wasn't sure how the technology worked in this case... was there an audible alarm as well?>

Of course. You mess with the car, it's gonna go off. His suburban has many sirens I believe. I guess maybe no one heard it, or no one bothered to do anything about it.

i stole a pen from the student book store the other day.

really i would have payed for it but i figured i was actually saving them money taking into the account of the cost of a 20 cent credit card transaction.

i should, of course, turn my self in and go to jail. i know.

I hook my truck up to 220v, its mainly for the cats, but I suppose it would work on thieves.

Interesting, because I have a lot of cats in my neighborhood, who happen to enjoy urinating on my cars tires, and jumping all over and scratching up my cars. Would be great if the electricity works on theives too. Keep them from peeing on my tires too. 😛

I don't think that would be a good idea. It's one thing to have a thief in your car, it's another thing to have a thief in your car that is now furious with anger.

I dont think a (heavily) bleeding person is going to stop and take time to further invade your space as much as he is going to be considering whether he needs the hosital or not. Razor blades cut deep

hopefully he doesn't get sued...

If he was in Texas, he probably won't get sued. Reason is because you have every right to protect your property. Thats one thing I like about Texas.

I am sure you will love it here in Texas. I've always criticized Texas, always saying how much I disliked it. But Texas is soooooo wonderful compared to the other states I used to live in. (Louisiana and North Carolina.) Come to think about it, I think Texas is a great state.

pfft, getting a car stereo stolen is nothing.

Coming home to an empty house, or an empty apartment (I've done both) is one hell of a downer.
