I hate the snooze button

Actually, most alarm clocks have a built-in circuit that shuts the alarm OFF after you hit the snooze button one time too many. I don't know if it's an industry-standard length of time, but my alarm clock shuts off after 5-6 snoozes (IIRC.)

I guess they just assume that if you don't get up, you deserve whatever happens. 😀

Snooze buttons are horrible. Ive overslept so many times because of them. When I get woken up, I'm not in the best of state. I would shoot somebody for ten more minutes.

Yep. It sucks setting the alarm clock to go off at 545 just so I can crawl out of bed at 630. This only happens when I get < 6 hours sleep.

LOL, yep I overslept myself many times because of the snooze button. Heck I even got into the practice of setting my alarm 20 minutes early so I could hit the snooze button a few times.

My snooze button stopped working on my trusty 10 year old alarm clock the other day. It DOES shut the alarm off.

I woke up two hours late, and an hour late for work.

My alarm gives up after the 5th snooze. 10 minutes apart.

I used to have an alarm that had a 15 minute first snooze, 10 minute second and third snooze, and the following snoozes were only 5 minutes. Man the last thing I wanted to do while half awake was math 🙁.

Sometimes it seems like I have to hit every button before it shuts off.

I thought it was great when I got in the snooze habit, I used to just shut the alarm off and fall back asleep...

On a related note: I have always wanted to add a semi-rig air horn to my alarm clock. 😀 Can you imagine? :music:"WHOOOOOOOOOOOOONKKK!":music: @ 130db As you soil your pajamas.

Guaranteed to get your lazy butt up and out of the bed, fo'shizzle.

Set the alarm clock on the other side of the room.

lol, i tried that and i ended up getting out of bed, turning off the alarm, then going back to bed.

So far the only thing that is sort of worked for me is having multiple alarm clocks.

set up multiple alarm clocks in different parts of the room. if you still go to bed after turning them all off then i guess you deserve to sleep through work.

I just can't understand that logic. You are tired in the morning and want more sleep. Thus, your solution is to wake up 10, 20, 30, 60+ minutes earlier every single day and have horrible sleep if any at all for that last amount of time. How is a guaranteed less sleep situation possibly going to help your problem of wanting more sleep?

No. I'll set my alarm 30 minutes later than you, get 30 minutes more sleep than you, and then wake refreshed. That way, I won't need the snooze button.

I didn't know they had clocks that shut off the alarm after a certain number of snooze button presses. Haha I remember my old roommate used to hit his snooze button for an hour or more sometimes.

it won't matter for me. i could set the alarm an hour after i'm supposed to be up and i'd still hit the snooze button. i usually go to bed around 11

I'm a big fan of the snooze button. I actually have to get out of bed to reach my alarm. I have it down to where I can just take a step and roll right back into bed. It's an art. 🙂

That only works if the extra 30 minutes guarantees that you wake up refreshed. Otherwise, you just wind up hitting snooze for 30 minutes either way. So might as well start earlier so you are up in time.

I have to do the same thing. I'm NOT a morning person. It doesn't matter if I get 10 hours of sleep. I'm always dragging if it's before 10 AM.
