I hate spring.

Spring and Fall are great. I probably have more physical activity in the spring than at any other time due to massive amounts of yard work. I could tolerate summer if we actually got rain. The last 2 summers have been drought-like conditions and I'm not optimistic that it will be any different this year.

I have to push mow about .5 acres in the summer, even if it is 95 outside. Now THAT sucks but fortunately I have a self-propelled mower.

:hmm:😛

Yeah, I predict it will be drought conditions, with occasional plague of locusts/spiders/whatever and tornadoes. Unless you're somewhere it decides to flood, in which case take away the occasional in front of the bug plagues.

The drive on one of my mowers broke and I had to finish the lawn by pushing the damn thing. Of course, it also happened to stop working on the part of my lawn that is on a hill. 40 year-old, out-of-shape guys have no business doing that!

This is why we moved to Maine. If we're going to have to deal with a snowy winter, we at least get the benefit of most of the summer being in the 70's and low 80's. Bonus, this was a very mild winter - the plow only came 3 times, and it's been in the 70's twice already.

I'm not cut out for hot and humid summers. DC was the worst - a lot of 90's with high humidity and NEVER a breeze. I don't know how you do it in Florida.

I 100% approve of this thread, OP

fuck all of these things:

allergies
bug bites
mowing grass
being sweaty
assfuck kids/teenagers out of school
no NFL season

While Fall is my absolute favorite season...I welcome the heat of the summer. We don't even have cold winters here in Memphis but I can't stand being cold. Gets in my bones and I feel like I'll never get warm again. On the flip side I love being outside in the heat of summer.

Then move.
San Diego - one season all year.

Or, the Northeast where we have four seasons and all are tolerable.

I hate it too. Way too bright in the evenings already; so annoying. Bring on Autumn!

" I'm already starting to feel as though the days are thick molasses that I have to slog my wet, sticky body through."

Are you fatty sir?

No sir. I've been going to the gym every day for the past 5 years. I'm quite fit, but that doesn't make me any less wet and sticky when it's hot out.

Wow everyone in here is a negative nancy. Holy shit.

Negative? How could I be otherwise when it feels like my brain is shutting down? I literally can't think as well in the warmer months. Everything is a struggle and a bother, but yet this is when the whole rest of the world is seemingly going in the opposite direction.

"Oh it's hot and sticky out! Guess I'll go build a new porch"!

It fucking disgusts me.

😱...

You'd rather build a new porch with 3 feet of snow on the ground? Come on man. 100F+ summers are one thing, 80F spring days are an excellent time for outdoor work.

The UK is nice and mild, a heck of a lot less bugs as well (I can't remember the last time I got bitten in the UK, compare that to 18 times in one week in Germany last summer).

I have hayfever problems too. Sometimes it can get quite bad, but I've been doing without medication for the last few years (I used to get hayfever medication every year until I became resistant to it and the replacement caused digestive problems).

80F is punishing when the humidity is high, for me anyway. It doesn't ever snow here so we don't have that excuse for not doing shit during a more habitable season.

My mood starts to go south at 70F, and I'm pretty miserable at 80F. 55F and overcast is my perfect day.

Edit:

I read "tornadoes" as "tomatoes". Works either way :^D
