Service at Costco Rocks! Getting a membership there is the equilvalant of having an AMEX Black Memebership.

Pace= Gone But not forgotten (miss that place)
Price Club= Out of buisness.

Costco=Price Club. I don't know whether they bought them or morphed into them but all the former Price Clubs here are now Costcos and google brings up Costco as the first hit on a search for Price Club.

Costco picked up Price Club in the early nineties. I go involved in the transition.

i think it was the cashier that blew you off. at costco, you're allowed to use a family member's card but you must pay in cash...

$150 at sams club is like 15 items. People checkout with a helluva lot more than $150 ... @@

If there was a problem with him using the card, they should have told him then, not when he goes to check out. But still, I thought it was fairly obvious with a picture on the card that only the card holder can use it.

the picture on my card barely resembles me (the logitech quickcam they used to photograph me was probably from the early 90s). when you go to a sam's club that actually is busy (read: people constantly entering), the person at the door has more important things to do than to compare your face to a blurry picture (such as making sure everyone simply is entering with a membership card in hand). as long as you're holding a card, you're allowed in, but it's assumed when you signed up that you know the simple rules about shopping there.

So today my buddy and I go to Sam's club to round up some food for a camping trip. We spend around an hour gathering together 150$ worth of food, and take it to the register. Now I myself am not a member, but my father is, and I have his card, so I give it to the lady. I give her the card and my liscense to prove that I'm my Dad's son, to which she promptly replies that only the cardholder himself can use the card. Than the cashier goes on break. We go and try and talk to the manager, who's sitting around and doing nothing, she just blows us off.

I have never been to a store where they don't allow immediate family members to use a membership, I can't tell if it's just horrible company policy, or just the fact that the cashier was lazy and didn't want to check out 150$ worth of food. Either way, my Dad and I were pissed off enough that we canceled our memebership and will never shop there again.

You are a tard. You are not a member and were trying to use someone else's card. If they pulled you over on the road, would you use his drivers license?

Holy crap, boo hoo! I'm glad I'll never have to run into you there. Those poor people that were behind your stupid a$$.

bitching because you refuse to acknowledge the rules (or research them for that matter) is pathetic.

on that note, my husband and i went to sam's club today and got lots of goodies.

Srry, I don't want to spend an hour reading the rules on what I'm allowed to do at a store that we already pay a membership for.

What YOUR FATHER pays a membership fee for, not you.

Unfortunately, AT still can't keep the riff raff out with their memberships lol! Hence Off Topic. I guess it makes sense. TY.

if you have to pay $35 or $45 for an annual membership at AT, I guarantee you the riff-raff will be significantly reduced!!! :)

Not to rub salt in the wound, but out of curiousity I went to their site to read their membership rules. It took me literally 22 seconds.

To the OP.. you are a tard.

For those asking why the membership fee's. It's simple. It's more money in the long run. On average, I think the savings from any of these warehouse places is around 3%. So, if you pay $45...you'd need to spend over $1500 just to start actually SAVING money over a normal store. Do you really think most members spend that much a year? And if they do, the savings is well worth giving for these companies. Many companies do this with membership cards, even places that require no memberships. Look at barnes and nobles. $25 membership card to save 10% on things in the store. Great.. that means you have to spend over $250 to start saving money and I don't want to spend that much in a year on barnes and nobles. It's a racket unless you have a huge family and can actually spend that much on tons of crap. $45 may not seem like a lot at first but when you look at the savings comparions to what you have to spend.. its dumb unless you really do plan on spending over that amount in one year.

I hate Samsclub because there's no Express lane so if I go in and just grab one or two items I have to wait in line behind 6 other people with heaping full shopping carts. Then when I finally get through that line I have to wait in line just ot get OUT of the F'ing store. I really wonder what they could do if I just walked out and didn't show my receipt... Once I've paid for the items and gotten my receipt they are legally mine and I shouldn't have to show anything to anyone

The only things I HATE about Sams Club is you have to show them your membership as you are walking in the door, and you have to show someone your receipt as you are walking out the door and they have to mark it with a marker. That creates a huge clusterfvck, especially during the holidays, as they usually select the most inept, old, retarded person to do this. And only one person doing it at any given time.

i don't understand why you're bitching.. it's not your membership.. it's your dad's.. he can add someone for free.. i added my fiance for free.. i dont' ever go to costco without a member, cause i dont' have one (although i think costco is better.. only slightly though).. does costco let you use your family member's membership card?

Costco is the same . I never saw inept, old, retarded people doing the job at either place.
