You know....much of childhood is not about getting good grades, but its about having fun. I had a Gameboy when I was a kid...my brother had a GameGear. I guess my parents were terrible for wasting that kind of money. And yet, somehow, I'm sure it made long car trips easier, don't you think?
You're also being foolish with your other argument, and are about to get cockslapped. Why the hell should I waste $1000 on a laptop? Can't your material ass last more than a few days without email? Why should you buy a digital camera and waste all that money, thus requiring a laptop to dump pictures on? A $40 35mm camera and a few rolls of cheap film will do the job just as well. What the HELL do you need a $270 MP3 player for? A $20 discman and a $20 pack of blank CD's serves the same purpose.
Keep tryin' bud.

Using your oh-so-superior logic: Why the hell do you need $400 equipment to go on a trip. Just get a book from the library then. Read a magazine goign to work. Read the newspaper and don't just skip to the sports section.
No childhood isn't only about getting 4.0s across the board. I certainly had my share of fun looking back. Could it have been better? Sure. Do I regrett my childhood? Nah. Do I complain I only had 1 game console as a kid and never a portable gaming machine?
Who needs a digital camera? What I took 130 shots for a photo project only to take 1 picture and print it in the end. And you want me to do that 2 nights in a row at 3 AM with a 35mm film camera huh. Maybe you don't enjoy photography like I do but at least you should not tell me to fvck off with my digital camera. If you dont even respect photography then fine don't use a camera. I had to dump photos on my laptop 3 times because my 512mb card couldn't hold anymore. E-mail? Sure I dont need to read my porn everyday, but hello I had to register for classes during vacation once in Japan. I obviously need some sort of internet access and a PSP sure doesn't cut it.
Waste money on laptops? If laptops are a waste throw your desktop away then. Throw computers away alltogether. Laptops are just like desktops with the added mobility feature.
You obviously don't demonstrate much maturity in your arguments by just insulting everything you read.
