That's because you're a violent criminal who should be locked up for the good of all mankind.

My closest call while lane splitting was having both my mirrors simultaneously whacked backwards by the cars on either side. Woooooo! Scared the crap out of me. :awe:

Just trying to help Darwin out. Apparently morons can't see the danger in driving like a moron with no protection around them. I'm not going to worry about your life more than you do.

Do it in the dirt. I don't hafta worry about cars going 50+, I just hafta beware stationary trees every so often. I have never had any interest in riding a bike on the street, but I've been getting muddy on the trails since '93.

In fact, I don't think I know a single rider who has both a quad and a street bike. The two just don't peacefully co-exist in a garage.

It's also illegal in FL. Not that you give a shit, but when you get wacked by someone's door or slam a truck's mirror and eat shit...you will be paying for it not the guy in the car/truck.

One thing most cagers don't get is bikes can operate in smaller areas. So when they make a lane change that looks crazy to you, it was no big deal for the bike.
I try not to do that, just because it does freak cagers out.
Which is not to say there aren't a-hole bikers, there certainly are. It's just not as high a percentage as you think. :)

how is it legal for harleys to have a loud ass muffler and not okay for a street car to have one? This doesn't happen to me, but I would hate to live next to a neigbhor with a damn harley.

You've only received incorrect responses so far so I might as well answer this: it isn't legal. From the factory they have quiet, baffled, legal exhausts and the first thing owners do is modify (remove the baffles, replace with straight pipes, etc). Harley used to have a reputation as the quietest bikes around and they actually encourage their customers NOT to do that.

The "loud pipes save lives" argument has been debunked and has nothing to do with your question anyway.

I don't mind them as a whole, and I've considered getting one in the past. However, just like with cars or any other mode of transportation, the obnoxious operators are annoying. I live close enough to a 55 MPH road that I can hear the fart-can-equipped ricers, the crotch rockets and the Harleys. It's... great. :|

I ride pretty conservatively but have little patience for people who go the speed limit or under especially on the way to work so I have split lanes even though I don't live in California.. BUT, I don't cut people off and am courteous to four wheelers.

What I love is the fact that most rice burners don't try to race me from a red because they are smart, it's usually tiny dicked pickup truck drivers. I laugh every time as I just twist the throttle and they're in the mirror.

perfectly legal in CA, so YMMV.

There are two factors that play into the notion that bikers are aholes:

1. Many young guys that can't afford a hot car can afford a hot bike and, because they're kids, act like aholes.

2. Many older men, seeking to reclaim there youth, buy a Harley in there 40's-60's and lacking any previous motorcycling experience act like aholes.

Bear in mind, however, that when there's an accident between a car and bike the driver of the car is at fault about 80% of the time.

I realize there are some who ride that are not assholes.

My problem is with the other 90% of them. Driving like assholes, speeding, cutting cars off and my personal favorite: gunning it on city streets to show just how cool they are.

I like to watch the youtube videos of bike morons crashing. I cheer whenever one of their bikes gets destroyed.

farting in a WalMart for fun?

It works out if both you and your neighbor have one.
