I hate people who ride motorcycles

I realize there are some who ride that are not assholes.

My problem is with the other 90% of them. Driving like assholes, speeding, cutting cars off and my personal favorite: gunning it on city streets to show just how cool they are.

I like to watch the youtube videos of bike morons crashing. I cheer whenever one of their bikes gets destroyed.

I don't think that it's really as high as 90% who ride like asses. It's simply that you hardly notice the ones that are riding safely & not like an ass.

I work in an industrial area, lots of warehouses and such, today one motorcycle rider randomly drives super fast down the street and does a wheelie. He's lucky he didn't fall because of how tore up the roads are from all the large trucks.

It's certainly the case around here that cyclists are much more likely than motorcycle riders to ignore any or all traffic laws, and there are many, many more of them to boot. They aren't nearly as noisy, I'll give them that, but they will ride naked in massive groups infinitely more often; frankly, I prefer my assholes loud and clothed.

Most fatal accidents that occur in Thailand take place on motorbikes. I will never ride a motorbike EVER in Thailand. I've seen the worst drivers in Thailand. They don't wear helmets, talk on their iphones while driving, and it's common to see 3-4 people on one motorbike. I remember waiting at a red light, and I noticed a guy who was on his motorbike playing with his Ipad. In heavy traffic!

I dare you to type in motorcycle accidents. Look for Thai accidents.

I rarely have ridden bikes personally.

I was in high school in the 70's and lost a few friends to silly accidents, and my second wife was a mental health Psychologist who worked in a head injured adult unit in a hospital.

Almost 100% of the people in it were either riding motorcycles, or not wearing seat belts, she is the one convinced me of that one even before it became SOP.

Tampa Bay area traffic is pretty heavy most areas of it and not really bike or cyclist friendly unless you're on bike trail.

Crazy motorcycle riders here usually natural selection takes over.

Simple: guy in the car has some steel, glass, and a few feet between him and the muffler = will be less deaf. Guy on motorcycle is guaranteed barely a few feet from muffler and open-air between him and it = more deaf. One makes everyone go deaf, the other makes everyone, but slightly less the driver, go deaf...

Agree with OP, but 90% is a bit too high for my area at least. A lot are just trailer trash, thuglife, etc. I think bikes are cool, but the culture is akin to MMA/crossfit/my little pony/cult type people. You stop being a reasonable human being and are just a slave to the sterotypes of that culture.

Edit:

Cyclists are also a perfect example. Somehow, I've avoided wearing a pink body condom since getting into it, though I also do more trail/mix riding. My road bike has been fucked up for a minute.

This is awesome. Not personally jealous or envious. TBH, it looks risky as fuck. The amount of unabashedly bad drivers here makes me never want to purchase a bike.

My closest call while lane splitting was having both my mirrors simultaneously whacked backwards by the cars on either side. Woooooo! Scared the crap out of me. :awe:

I ride like an asshole on my scooter and I don't care, I love it. I still obey all traffic laws.

Some people HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE lane splitters though. My most vivid memory of late: some asshole in a new Audi A*, driving 25mph on a 35mph road. He gets stopped at a light, I lane split and get in front of him. Light turns green and all of a sudden he's fucking michael schumacher and can't wait to get in front of me WOT.
