He's a cheap bastard. Has a 12 unit apartment with ~$1100 each. He already paid for his mortgage. Only utilities I get are water. And its not good water. It has some chlorine in it, and if left alone for ~6 hours, it turns yellow on surfaces such as my dishes. I know there are regulations on water quality, but I think he barely met them.
The place is also a wreck. Bugs get in through the window because there are holes; under the front door as well. Apparantly, his son is the person fixing the building, but he's not doing that great of a job. If my upstairs neighbor goes to the bathroom at night, I hear it at 3am. She's not even stomping either. These walls are as thin as paper.
There is one washer and one dryer for twelve units, and about 30 people living here. Also, the laundry machine is broken. It ate my money after I put my clothes in. No note on it saying "Out of Order," and he was here checking up on it a couple hours ago. I called him about it, and said that he already knew it was broken. Just didn't bother saying anything about it. So here I am, 50 miles away from home, without a car, a $2 bus ride (which I'm not going to spend money on), and without a laundromat within a mile. No bike. Just my two feet. I have two loads of laundry too, I didn't go home last week. So now I have to wait until Saturday when I can go home and do my laundry.
I'm paying an average price for rent with two other roommates. The only upside I see about this place is that we live across the street from school, but a lot of people do.
The landlord drives a new BMW 5 series. Instead of using the money to fix this place up, or buying a new washer and dryer, he buys a 5 series. WTF is wrong with him. I've never seen a landlord with such bad practices. I can't wait to move into my own house. I hope I win the lottery tonight with my $5 birthday ticket, even though I'll have a better chance being struck by lightning thrice.
I'd like to move, but there's no place to go, but home. There are no places with vacancy within a mile. We have to ignore the problems.
