I have heard today what is possibly the dumbest and most ignorant thing I've ever heard of anyone doing. A little backstory: My girlfriend's 70 year-old grandpa died in what was pretty much a horrendous car accident this past Wednesday. He wasn't wearing his seatbelt when he crossed the medium of a highly trafficked and hit head-on into a Jeep. Needless to say, his whole upper body was crushed, and the funeral home did a helluva job getting him to look halfway decent for an open-casket funeral. Very sad weekend for me and my girlfriend to say the least. Her grandpa always made an effort to have a conversation with me whenever I was around, unlike most her of her family (they're a hateful bunch).
The visitation was yesterday, and in attendance was my gf's 2 cousins, both guys at the age of 22 and 19. The 22 year-old is trying his best to get away from drugs, but it's hard for him because they live in a small town here in Kentucky, and drugs is about all there is to do for the youngins. His brother of 19 has gotten worse and worse as he's gotten older, and his bitch of a skank girlfriend doesn't help him at all, seeing as to how she is more addicted to oxycottons more than he is.
Anyways, both the 19 year-old and his gf were in attendance, and seemed to greive more than anyone. Same way with the funeral today. I actually felt sorry for them, especially for the girl. She seemed so upset, even though she was not related to the family in any way. After the funeral, everyone gathered at my gf's grandmas house to eat and just be together. This included all the immediate family, friends, the VFW (her grandfather served in the Korean war), and some church folk. Everyone was eating and having a good time for what it was worth. There were atleast 50-70 people in this small house, so there were people in the 2 bedrooms eating as well. My gf's 19 year-old cousin and his girlfriend were in one of the bedrooms by themselves for a while, then the girl got 'sick' and had to leave shortly after they had ate.
Well, my gf and I left shortly thereafter. My gf's mom called just a few minutes ago, and said that one of the ladies from my gf's grandpa's church was getting ready to leave, and couldn't find her purse. They finally found it shoved in between the bed and the wall in the room where my gf's cousin and his gf were for a short period. What was missing? $180! And this isn't the first time one of my gf's cousin's have stole something. The 22 year-old used to cut my gf's dad's yard. He took it upon himself one day to steal about $500 worth of Snap On tools, and sold half of them for drugs. My gf's dad found the other half in his trunk. Unfortunately, he didn't press charges because of the pressure his sister was giving him. They are his sister's sons.
I know some of you won't care about this, but I have to vent. For them to do something like this on a day like this, it's just sad. Drugs are stupid and they make people stupid. End of story.
