So I wake up this morning and I notice I was charged a $6.00 "Classic member activation fee". I was like....wtf...I only have $90 in this account and they charged me $6 of it. So I go and talk with the people at the bank. Turns out that anything I do at the BANK ITSELF, I get charged a "activity" fee. I don't get charged with any online transfers or anything...
I have never heard of a bank charging $6 to deposit a $90 check!
This is my local bank at school. Most of my money(thank god) is not at this bank.
Heres a copy of my chat with them
UPDATE 1: HERE
UPDATE 2: I am going to close my account with them and try to get my money back. But who knows, I might get charged for closing my account....or maybe even walking into the bank.
UPDATE 3: I closed out my account with them today. Wrote some nice comments on the reasons why I was closing the account.
They gave me a check, and surprise, they told me I would not be charged to cash this check in the branch....that makes sense, now that I am not a account holder, don't charge me.
Backwards logic if you ask me...
