Oh, don't get me wrong. It's not McDonald's fault people are fat and unhealthy. They're not knocking on people's doors and slamming sandwiches down their throat when they answer. I just hate the fact they're pawning fried chicken off as a good start to your day.

Like every McDonalds, Burger King, Chik-fil-a, and Hardees has been for decades in the South East? In the South East, you can get a chicken biscuit from any fast food place that sells breakfast and always have been able to since the fast-food breakfast biscuit was invented. The Southern Style one was new for two reasons: #1, they created a peanut-oil fried chicken patty for their Southern Style chicken sandwich that attempts to duplicate Chik-fil-a's chicken sandwich and #2, they rolled it out while offering it with biscuits on a more national level. Doesn't mean they haven't always had a fried chicken biscuit. At all southern fast-food joints, you can get "steak biscuits" too. Though McD's doesn't offer them in SoCal, The South can get bagel breakfast sandwiches of all kinds (steak, egg & cheese bagel for example) instead of sandwiches made inside biscuits, muffins, or griddle-cakes.

To add to this my own take:

When ISN'T fried chicken a good way to start the day?

I've been hittin up Mcdonalds more often. I have 1 day off per week, and I'm a pretty frugal person. Easy to see why. Also, I'm a coffee addict, and Mcdonalds for a fast food joint, makes a decent cup of joe.

Even for regular coffee, since they have that McCafe thing, they are good at making it the way you ask them to. Their coffee is just.... coffee, nothing preserved. Really their food isn't that bad for you other than the trans fat and sodium. Don't expect to eat Mcdonalds as a meal, I still go home and steam broccoli or something. McDonalds = Calories, nothing else.

Bingo.
Same damn thing with tobbacco. And fat is way more addicting than nicotine.

It is a tasty sandwich and the only place you can get something that even resembles lunch for breakfast.

McDonalds breakfasts are some of my favorite foods, period. It's hard to top a sausage McMuffin with egg, especially after a night of drinking.

Chick-Fil-A has an awesome chicken biscuit, although I like their chicken breakfast burrito better. I've been seeing a McD's around here advertise biscuits and sausage gravy. Now that's a true southern breakfast. My favorite biscuits are from Bob Evans, but the closest one is an hour away in Richmond. :( Gonna have to talk the wife into making some buttermilk biscuits for breakfast this weekend.

I haven't stepped foot inside a McDonalds in years.

But have you used the Drive-Thru wetcat007? :p

He probably has.

I just realized that they had other sandwiches on McMuffin "English Muffin" buns here in SoCal. In GA, the Egg McMuffin is the only "McMuffin" with a slot on the menu... no doubt, to make room for the bagel and biscuit breakfast sandwiches. I also just noticed that you get a freakin McMuffin/English Muffin with your Big Breakfast Deluxe here instead of a biscuit... it's even pictured that way!

I like MCD's for what it is, but I'm really plssed at how much they've raised the price of the Egg McMuffin in the last couple years, from $1.29 about 5 years ago to $2.44 now.
