i have never actually heard anybody use lol when talking seriously, but I have heard j/k, which in my opinion is almost as stupid. my english teacher yesterday actually said something and then after said j/k. i was like wtf and started laughing at her patheticness. Too bad my whole class is a bunch of mamas boy dweeb types with no sense of humor. im not sure who is really more pathetic, people who use j/k when talking, or people who don't find it absurd when they hear people use it.

I'm with you all the way about this LOL thing. I think it looks retarded. I can't believe people actually SAY it too! That really surprised me. I've never heard that before. You'd have to be some special kind of geek to say that in a conversation. Not only do you have to be a dork but you'd also have to be dumb enough to think it makes any sense in the context of a spoken conversation.
