I HATE J00 Real Player!!

God dammit... how many times do I have to tell other people not install crap without asking me first? Now all my media files are being opened in RP. :| Last time I tried to change it back, I had to manually change everything, which was a pain in the ass. Argh! :|:|:|

Exactly... you needed to scroll down in some of the setup procedures to keep it from defaulting certain things. I've installed it on many machines here with no problems.

They are a bit sneaky, but if you do it right, you're problem free. That's the only thing Real has going against them... the player is solid and never crashes.

I didnt install it. It was my sis who just click next to everything. Plus... Its still a POS I dont want in my machine.

because of realplayer, i used regedt32 and made all the registry entries for my media files read only. it really is POC software.

Funny thing is, I had it setup in her own goddamn computer. But then she installed it on mine cause she has crappy speakers + mine is setup in front of my bed + wireless everything.

I seriously hope that you are joking. I have had Real Player crash on me countless times on many machines for no reason whatsoever. Oh wait, the reason was that it had to auto update itself

NO, I'm not joking. It has never crashed on me. Not through the earlier versions and not with RealPlayer One. Quicktime is a different story...

My fault. I read it as you "telling" the program not to install certain things, but it apparently did. Anyway,... no need to yell a question out... with !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have it installed, and no problems. I DO NOT LIKE IT, but I keep it just in case there is something I want to hear that's in that AWESOME ".rm" proprietary format !!!!!!!!

But like was said, I installed it, ONLY made it the default handler for Real files, disabled automatic updating, disabled any calls back to "home", and it just sits here......like my little b!tch!!!!!!!

There was a thread here a few months back that allowed a special version of Windows Media Player (called WMP classic) that plays them. It was AKA "unReal Player". Works quite well. I have the install files if you want them. My nonsubscribing-a$$ can't do a search good enough to find the thread.

I hate real player. If you overlook one check box during install, it installes everything under the sun. However, I think it is better than a few years ago when it installed everything in the universe!!

But, I installed E-donkey the other day. POC POC POC!!! It installed all this loser crap software that started up every time I started my 'puter. And the only way to know it was running was to do the Task manager thing, see it, and then shut it down (of course, until I uninstalled it).

Pop-ups, adds, and self-installs are getting out of hand. Why do I, every time I visit USATOday.com, need an advertisement for Orbitz. Orbitz SUX so bad.

Ok, I'll stop before I go on a bigger rant.
