I cooked myself some eggs and bacons this morning on our crappy gas stove top. The darn thing doesn't have worth a crap of power and its much much slower than electric top. Its very hot combustion gas comes rising and I burnt my arm hair today. F_ck. It didn't smell good and it looks like I shaved it off. Ignition doesn't work that well and you know what natural gas smells like? Very baad.. Anyway curses to that thing :(

Yeah you must have a bad gas stove because gas stoves absolutely rock over electric crap.

Mine take an eternity to boil. When school starts on Mon, people will be asking why I shaved my arm for(no I didn't shave) "my gas stove burned it"

Actually, all professional cooks prefer gas stoves to electric.

Which means you must really suck. ;)

Your stove is broken. With an electric stove you have to wait for the element to heat up before it starts heating the water. With gas it is hot instantly.

The only good electric stoves are recessed burner stoves. Extra counter space when you're not using the stove, plus you know when it's on. And the best thing is time to temperature for those is only a few seconds. So as far as I'm concerned, I'm happy with my recessed burner stove. :D

You probably need to clean the burners, igniters or adjust the flame. Or you were messing around, shaved your arm and now you are too embarrased to admit it.:D

Jerboi -- It sounds like your particular stove needs repair or replacement. Gas stoves are much better because they give you much more control over the cooking temp, they don't take forever to heat up before you can use them, and they don't stay hot forever after you're through using them. That means they're safer, and they don't waste a lot of energy before and after you do your actual cooking.

If your car needed mechanical attention, would you be better off complaining about all gasoline powered cars, or getting yours fixed? :)

LOL gas stoves don't have much part to break down. The spec says 3000BTU too. Thats 860watts. The electric heating element is like 2KW, more twice that gas stove.

BTU is a unit of energy, A Watt is a unit of power
3000BTU=860watts just doesnt make any sense

well 3000BTU/hr is the same as 860W/hr. Watt is derived from energy and time. One watt is 1joule per second.

at least it's not your eyebrows, think about that one. It's happened to me, though not with a gas stove.

I like the Stove top to be Gas, but I like the Oven to be electric, or else the food has a gas taste to it, but with gas prices now I hate having ANYTHING gas
