I hate credit card companies

They are slimy beyond all belief. I got approved for an Amazon.com Visa a couple months ago and I found out a few days ago that they (Chase) signed my account on for the payment protector crap. Okay well I call and they tell me its no problem and that they will cancel the service and credit my account the $15 that was charged. A few days go by and I still do not see any credit. However I notice a new charge for $15 for one of those credit reporting bureaus (Experian). I signed up for my free credit report exactly 1 month ago and the next day I called them up to cancel it because I did not want the month-to-month reports. I followed the automated voice options and ended with it telling me that my subscription had been cancelled and that no charge would be made to my account. Yet today I am getting charged for it. I swear to god I hate these companies. I am out $30 this month for their crap and they tell me everything is taken care of as far as cancelling the "services" but I have no way of actually knowing if they are in fact doing what they say. Would disputing the charge be the proper way of handling this or do I need to just keep calling until they finally follow through?

That's why when I activate a card and they try to push the "free one month" crap on me, I just tell them no thanks. I don't need the hassle of calling them later to cancel something I never needed in the first place.

I always tell them no thanks as well but that doesn't stop them from signing me up for this crap. I couldn't tell you how many times I've been told that I probably hit a key by accident signing myself up for something. I know I am not the one signing myself up for it. I guess it is just how things are with credit card companies.

Chase gave me $20 to try their credit protector service. I just didn't use that card until I cancelled.

Visa gave me $150 to try their credit protector service. Didn't use that card either until I cancelled.

Just don't use the card and keep the $ that they give you.

if you hate them so much, just use a debit card.

I have made thousands with credit card sign on bonus, rewards, referral, etc. even including credit protector service. Chase would just send me a check for $20 and if I cash it, I would enroll to the credit protector. no big deal, I never charge more than a few bucks on those cards. I have 5+ chase cards.
