meh. i love antec. so much that all cases i've bought in the past 6 years have been antec, and i just replaced all the fans in my comp with truequiets.
Lot's of reasons to hate OCZ though![]()
RMA'd a barebones PC to Foxconn. They received it 2 weeks ago, still waiting on any word that the replacement shipped. Now that's bad RMA service.
I'm still rocking the Lian-Li PC-V1000b
Maybe I'll upgrade one of these days, but there is not really any need to at this point.

Hey, I like OCZ! two very nice PSU and sets of Memory from them.

it's a bit monolithic, heavy as hell, and I have since learned to loathe full tower cases, but this was my previous one:

I loved the Prairie-style modern look to it. :\
I'm now rocking mid tower, black, simpler, lighter. can't think of the model numebr or find any kind of image, though.

I like that. Cool design.

Antec is great. I have damaged the front door and ports of a case and they just sent me replacement everything. I have also had case fans go bad and they just sent me new ones.
Nice. How do we get that service?
Looks good, I like it.
Yeah, nautilus is what I would have expected. A weird design regardless. :hmm:

Their PSUs drop like flies. Their memory was good for a while but had something like a 20%+ failure rate for a while before they got out of the memory industry for good.

I'm not a fan of OCZ's power supply line-up.

SOME PCP&C units are good...some are OK.

I'm always surprised at how many people, especially computer geeks, who don't realize that MOST power supply companies don't actually make their PSU's...but instead, contract them out to a handful of OEM's.
They were good during the DDR2 days.. somehow their quality dropped for DDR3.
Most of their PSUs are meh.. except for the gold rated ones.
I was never a big fan of Lian Li cases. They always looked so... boring. When I was a kid I liked the flashy stuff, but even now that I'm past that point I still don't see much appeal to them.
Slick clean, stylish, understated designs using good materials are what I like. Lian Li builds quite a few cases that fit this aesthetic.
If you like flashy designs you might like the NZXT Phantom, not my cup of tea but it seems to be a popular case now:

Ugly as fuck, that.
I always like the design of Lian Li above other manufacturers, but it never justified the cost for me (i know, they tend to use more aluminum than others, but still--it's a fucking computer case). That's why I stick to Silverstone with the last two builds: good design, some aluminum, reasonable cost.
I never had a problem with the previous OCZ power supply--not to my knowledge, anyway. That system also had 2x500mb OCZ DDR2 platinum something, which was one of those turnaround sets for OCZ, well-reviewed by Anand. One of the sticks actually failed on me, took me a while to realize what was going on.
It was diagnosing and finding a solution to that problem which finally prompted me to create an account on AT. discovered it was the RAM, got in contact with OCZ rep and a prompt replacement, all through AT forums. For that, I've always liked them because of customer support. Whenever I do spring for an SSD or SSD-cache solution, it will likely be OCZ.
I currently run 4gb of their black edition optimized for Phenom II, or whatever it was. I wanted to double up on it, but as they have exited that market, I don't think I will be able to find it reasonably-priced. Then again, I wonder if going for 8gb of the popular GSkill stuff is a better option, anyway.
:hmm:
I've used the Antec 900 since ~2007. Never had any of the problems you described. Still use two of them. A friend and a relative have two more. They're all great (if you can stand the gaudiness and don't mind a bit of modding to keep things tidy).antec sucks big time, shoddy products.
i have their antec 900 gaming case, the headphone jack never worked, ground loop noise, completely unusable, and it's a known issue with this case. antec doesn't do shit about it, if you call them up, they'll just send you a replacement front panel with the same problem.
just a few month ago, the 200mm fan bearings failed, and is now making a grinding noise, another common problem because antec cheaped out and used inferior bearings.
it's gonna be a pita to rip this thing out.
my next case is gonna be some cheap no name junk, and it'll be better than this.
Yeah OEM's make lost of power supplies for all kinds of companies. I'm not familiar really with which company makes which power supplies for whom but I'm well aware of the fact. I know Seasonic makes corsair's PSUs and both of those are very good on average.
