I hate Antec

What are we talking about here; a PC case, or drive enclosure?

It's a drive enclosure so the USB port is a necessity.

Never been a fan of their cases, I find 99% of them to be ugly.

For a case, buying a hub for now would be a lot cheaper and easier than disassembling the PC and shipping the case.

For a $20 hard drive enclose, buy a new USB 3.0 one from Newegg while you wait?

What's wrong with the P180/2/b ?? It was the first case I spent over $100 on and I still use it to this day.

And all companies hate customers like you. I came in here expecting some legit rant about a customer service nightmare with Antec or something. They usually make good products from my experience. Like most companies there are a few duds in the mix of course.

Ugh, it looks like a crappy bar fridge.

I left that 1% there in case someone can present one that actually looks good because to do date I have not seen one I liked from them.

I suppose tone doesn't come across on the internet, I've bought many Antec products and they all worked to expectation. So my rant wasn't a serious full blooded rage. Just more annoyed by it is all.

It is pretty standard for customer service, same policy anywhere you go. I love Antec products, great value!

That's a bit different than a case/enclosure.

While removing the drive and sending it in would be a slight inconvenience, it's not nearly as bad as you made it sound:

The hassle factor is the problem. Disassemble, pack it up, ship it out. Hope the whole thing doesn't get damaged during shipping. All to replace a small part that is out of stock.

For something like this, I wouldn't expect them to stock many spare parts. It's probably easier for them to just replace the entire thing under warranty then refurbish it and sell it later.

LOL yeah didn't notice that, only looked at the first page. The Antec Dark Fleet really is a seriously ugly case.

I've got the Corsair 800D at home. A monster but very nice!

Former coworker got one of those, he spent money like it was water, really liked the look of it apparently. Yeah I think it's ugly looking too, but far from the worst on that list.

My Antec power supply has served me well, I've only ever heard good things about their cases but have never liked the look of them enough to actually buy. Needing to RMA something that broke isn't a reason to hate them. I had to RMA my first Vertex2, and somehow I don't hate OCZ.

Yeah, nautilus is what I would have expected. A weird design regardless. :hmm:

I'm still rocking the Lian-Li PC-V1000b

Maybe I'll upgrade one of these days, but there is not really any need to at this point.

Sweet that's my previous case, now in my mame cab. Lan Li make some beautiful cases.
