Whenever you feel like your life is meaningless and sad, just think of all us who you enable to say that we have better lives just by comparing it to yours. That counts for something doesn't it?

Get a dog and walk it.

Cant tell you how many girls I met walking my golden in Ryunion Canyon when I lived in LA.

That's fucking horrible advice. What if he doesn't like dogs? Then he'll meet a chick that likes dogs while he doesn't. The relationship will soon fall apart if they have nothing in common and he'll be even worse off.

Me, for example, I don't like dogs. They shit everywhere and by law you have to pick that shit up when you walk them. That's a stinky ass way to live your life man. They also drool everywhere and their drool stinks too. I'd be depressed too if I had to follow a dog around picking up it's shit all the time.

If I were in his shoes, I'd tie a leash around a computer, put some wheels on it and wheel it's ass around.

People would stare at me, laugh at me, even call me crazy. And you know what?

I don't give a shit.

They can all go fuck off.

The italians have a word for this. Menefreghista. Not sure I spelled that right. Don't care. Feel free to correct me. Anyway, loosely translated it means 'one who does not give a fuck'.

Some people put the "men" in menefreghista. Trident, you put the whiny bitch in menefreghista. Notice there is no whiny bitch in menefreghista.

And no I didn't just make that word up. Look it up.

Or go hang out at a fries and wait for a woman to pic up a mother board, then see if she's single.

Washington != Seattle.

You're trying to play semantics. Say something that is accurate rather than trying to redefine words.

It's different. I'm guessing you never lived in Seattle. I've gone to other cities and they're much more friendly. I get invited to things and actually get to do shit with people rather than a superficial 'we should do something sometime, in a life where you don't exist'. People in other cities are actually willing to socialize at social gatherings with people they don't know very well.

It's not the city, it you and your attitude. If you're anything like you portray yourself online, I wouldn't want to have any association with your loser ass either.

I have many sources that say the city is the problem. It's not just me who thought this up (Admittedly, I thought this before I found out everyone else who moves here from far away thinks the same).

And I have many sources on OT that think you are still a whiney little bitch. My sources are better than yours.

You were pretty whiney before you moved there though.

Sorry you are sad trident. I think you have a right to feel sad, everyone does at some point.

You gotta find what makes you happy and pursue it. A good hobby, there must be something you can focus on that makes you feel good.

Work will just be a means towards pursuing that goal of happy. Work will suck, but it is what it is.

All this shit about, "If you don't wake up feeling happy, you are doing the wrong job or wrong path" is just that.

Do you think janitors, retail employees, etc., wake up and say, "Fuck yes, I can't wait to shuffel around work and do this shit!" Hell no. They do it because maybe they have no choice.

I don't know where I'm going with this, but, embrace the obstacles in your life. Without obstacles, we would lack focus.

It's your shitty attitude and personality. I had a good time when I lived in Seattle. People were friendly in the city and the surronding areas. And there were plenty of cute girls.

Until you change your shitty whiny bitch attitude and develop a personality that people might want to be around, it doesn't matter where you live.

This is his hobby, whingeing on ATOT and ignoring any advice given to him.

It's a modern day existential problem to find, create meaning in your life, a quest we all share in. I have moments of sadness but they usually only last 10 seconds or less (said Wm Blake, "The busy bee has no time for sorrow"). There's a great piece of poetry that deals with this very problem directly, by one of the world's greatest writers (some would say the best ever), William Shakespeare, the famous sonnet 30:

SONNET 30

When to the sessions of sweet silent thought
I summon up remembrance of things past,
I sigh the lack of many a thing I sought,
And with old woes new wail my dear time's waste:
Then can I drown an eye, unused to flow,
For precious friends hid in death's dateless night,
And weep afresh love's long since cancell'd woe,
And moan the expense of many a vanish'd sight:
Then can I grieve at grievances foregone,
And heavily from woe to woe tell o'er
The sad account of fore-bemoaned moan,
Which I new pay as if not paid before.
But if the while I think on thee, dear friend,
All losses are restored and sorrows end.

I've been pretty wise for quite some time. I doubt I will ever surpass some of my more driven years.

in which of these years were you more driven?
