I had a run-in with the cager from hell yesterday.

If he was actually inside your car swinging his arms you should have just shot him as you would have had every right to.

This is a very good point & one that too many people on bicycles fail to consider.

Although you were 100% right to be angry @ the jerk in his car, if he had decided to kill you, you would very likely be dead now, so next time avoid making the hand-gesture he assumed was you giving him the finger ... I refrain from doing things to provoke people when I'm out riding my 1200cc sportbike for the same reason, although frankly unless I run into a lunatic driving a Z06 it isn't much of a problem getting away!

it was very quick that he got his arms out of my truck... he reached in and swung a couple of times at me, i warned him and he didnt comply. i pulled my weapon and he complied quickly. if he hadnt, id have shot him. i do give people the chance to realize their actions could cause pain, unlike some ive seen just pull and shoot no matter the situation. this guy was a buinessman with a bike riding hobby. i think he just needed reminding that he wasnt the king. im not either, but dammit im not his whipping boy.

Nope. You get used to sitting on a bike after a while. I actually find this type of saddle to be far more comfortable than those thickly padded gel saddles.

in the future, if you could translate all kalifornia-speak such as "cager", "hella" and "freeway" into english, it would be appreciated

Cager is a term used nationwide. It is not unique to California.

You can call us cyclists. That would be fine with me.

BTW-It's a term that motorcyclists use too.

Itchy trigger finger? I'm sure he quickly backed off when he saw a gun in his face.

if i hadnt had a kid in the truck i wouldnt have even pulled it. i may have stopped and got in his face or just ignored him, depending on how far he pushed it, but he was too aggressive and too close to my kid.

not in my experience, if both parties have them, both are just as unwilling to see who is faster.

Shens. And in any case, no one was made any more polite - just scared. And we all know fear's a perfectly acceptable substitute for respect.
