I got protested this weekend

There were some protesters that I walked up on this weekend and they asked if I was in the military once they saw my haircut. I told them that I was in fact a US Marine and they proceded to curse at me, try to start a fight, and spit at me. I was completely taken back. I mean here I am, about to go to war to protect the liberties and freedoms that even give these people the right to protest in the first place, and they are acting like they hate me and everything I worked for.

I mean, after all the training I went through in the last 8 months to become what I am I get out and see that people are basically ready to slap me in the face. Thanks protesters, glad to know that you're grateful for all of the things we go through to keep you safe.

Since you volountered, then can be mad at you. If they start harassing you, or trying to assault you, then they're bad people and breaking the law.

Well if we had no one in our army we wouldn't be free. We would be taken over. Hence by my logic anyone who is in the military is a deterrent which in turns guarentee's your freedoms.
 
I can't stand that. It's not you who's making the decision to go to war, you're just supporting your country. These protesters, while they're legally entitled to yell at you, have no right to disrespect a servant of our country.

I salute you for fighting to defend their right to free speech. It's very noble of you.
 
Btw, were they French? You probably could have gotten them to surrender right there in the street if you pulled out your peacemaker!

Glad to see 100% support as there damn well should be. Let's just hope Red Dawn doesn't come in and ruin it.
 
You could be like that one astronaunt that punched the guy on the street. It was well called for. But then the media just loves to put a twist on the story.

they're not just stupid... they're absolute friggin dumb@$$es. It's good to hear that you're above that... the general nitwit quotient of the US is at an all-time high, don't join the crowd.
