You can't check email or surf the net yet on it. Maybe someone will hack it?

But with no keyboard it will be kind of tough to get any typing out of it.

I'm generally not a fan of portable gaming as I don't have a need of it and I'm not really in to the games out on the GB and GBA. But with the PSP I can play games like GT4m, Tekken and SF when they come out. Also a big plus is tha tI can play against other people through WiFi when more people get them. Gaming with people is pretty dam fun imo.

Once again the screen is AMAZING you must see one in action to see how good the quality is. Still pictures don't do it justice and Ridge Racer runs at a STONKING speed! No loss in frames and I have gotten up to 300kPH with nos 😛

I wouldn't have gotten one if it was £500 mind you! It was £400 ish then drops to £380 ish and that was too much to pay for me but when it got to £263 that wasn't so bad.

Agreed. I had no real desire for a portable gaming machine, but at $150 my gadget sense is tingling.

Sounds very cool. I would consider it if the battery life was better and there were more games than Ridge Racer that I'd be interested in.

I had decided to pass on both the PSP and the DS, but ended up buying a DS back in December (or was it November, I forget at the moment). It was cool, but I figured out that the only game that I knew of that would be out for a good long while was Mario 64, so I sold it (just last Thursday to be exact).

Not to change the subject, but I can't wait to see what they've got in store for their next consoles.

Yup.

<-- no commute no psp or at least wait until it got cheaper 😛

It is useful on my commute and only the time I game now.

Another cool feature is:

When playing Ridge Racer you can PAUSE the game and then HIBERNATE the PSP. Then when you get it out of hibernation you will be in the PAUSE menu and you can play exactly from where you left off. Great if you have a few minutes to game as it is fast out of hibernation and in to hibernation.

Too big for me as an mp3 player but I'm picky and the iPod imo would be better if it was shorter by an inch or 1.5 inches and a bit thinner 😛 but I'm picky like that and the remote sucks with no LCD screen...

Then the Nintendo DS is screwed.

Not to say that isn't cool, but the DS was even better about hibernating.

If you close it, it automatically goes into hibernation and then when you open it back up it jumps right back to where you were. Also, if you're playing Mario 64, then you get Mario saying something, which can be cute or annoying or both depending on the situation.

Hmmm...making me want one now. Looks bad ass. We'll see what other killer aps and uses come out for this thing before I jump though.

here, I'll bring to light a question people keep asking about the PSP:

WHAT IS THE BATTERY LIFE?

Yes you can.

Battery life is 6hrs with Ridge Racer and more with 'less intensive' games.[/b]

Nice pick-up OP. Now that's what portable gaming system should look like, quality. Reminds me of the Turbo Grafx Express days.

Battery life tests for PSP.
