orientation is fun, orientation only sucks if you get stuck with people who are extremely unsocial which will probably be the case for any engineers 😉 j/k

seriously though i made actual friends that i still see around from orientation which is pretty cool imho

Got a plan for getting out? That the part people usually forget and then the cops show up...

Cheers ! 🙂

naw...he's an engineer, for some reason engineers always find out earlier than the rest of the majors for ucla...if you got a letter inviting you to an "open house for prospective engineering students" that means you're in 😀

OMG your orientation weekend will be with other engineers. You should have chosen Sociology or something. I was stuck with Life Sciences. That was bad.

If you applied as an engineering major, please do come to the open house if you get an invitation.

edit: somehow i missed your post about CS&E, sorry.
anyway, I am cs&e also. congrats.

To others, Engineering school is quicker in deciding on the applicants so they let them know "unofficially" but it is almost official.

Oops, correction. I'm not talking about the general school orientation but the before hand orientation/open house for the specific major. It was so boring, simple, uninteresting, and stupid.

I'm graduating this May from Berkeley, and planning on going to grad school.

So far I've heard from Carnegie Mellon, and they're flying me out there to wine and dine me. I'll take that any day!

Thing I don't like about UCLA is the limited number of majors for such a large school. Berkeley has much better selection.

congrats!! i applied for CS but i havent recieved anything yet. does anyone knwo how hard it is to change major to Electrical Engineering?

<< and screw Stanford >>

w3rd.

I got into UCB and UCLA last year and chose UCB. Apparently, UCLA was harder to get into than UCB last year, and it was probably the same this year.

Congrats!

Hey dude congrats! It was the best 5 and a half years of my life 😀 Try and live in a high rise your first year. It may not be great, but you'll meet tons of people

man..i'm so tired
2 cs projects due friday, and a midterm on thurs...

yeah, i'm an EE student at ucla

lol..i'm not trying to scare u
;-)

Congrats... If you want any info about UCD, let me know. If you haven't checked out Irvine though, look. It is absolutely beautiful.

Happy partying 😉

On a very off-topic note, apparently a lot of Cali students come up here to UBC because of cheap tuition and living costs.

Go Trojans! Whoo hoo! Oh wait. Wrong school 🙂 Hell, I'm not even in the south...I'm stuck out in the middles of nowhere....Chico.
