I got busted for a street racing..............:(

I got busted for racing a Civic Si on the street, Im usually one who loves to race but tonight i wasnt feeling it, but this guy was just persistent, he kept reving and reving and makin his tires squeal and what not. Well he finally gets a light with me and the passenger starts talkin the regular your car is slow, I ask him if its moddded and hes like nope, so i say well my 5.0 can take him, so why not show him whats up, light turns green and we both smash....that is not one Stock Civic Si, he hangs with me through first gear and i totally leave em in 2nd, im feelin good now, but then......dam!..... cops, i get pulled over and he leaves, after i get outta the car the cop is like dont worry we got your friend too. Well i get slapped with a "Speed Contest" Ticket, and know i have to go to court, i am very nervous as this is the first time i really get busted for anything, i know it will be heavy, but hey thats what i gotta pay for, i know its stupid to street race but for me its a real adrenaline rush, I've read posts by others who share this rush so i know im not alone, but tonight really sucks dam.

Hopefully ill be able to go to traffic school and get this erased from my record.

Street racing is dumb and stupid (i think anyone who is a big car enthusiast and says they have never done it is a dirty liar though). You're gonna buck up though and face the music instead of trying to get out of it so just take it as a learning lesson 🙂
 
though I'm inclined to call you a ricer, I feel bad for you because there I really hate it when I'm pulled over by the cops. I hope you squeeze out of this one because I thk you're genuinely sorry for what you did.

edit: oops misread the initial post... I guess I got caught up in the ricer thingy cuz i was chking out anti-ricer webpages and I wanted to hop on the bandwagon...sorry bout that

What? Is being a ricer something bad? Is making your car better with modifications (engine) being a ricer is being dumb and stupid...?
 
Oh im very sorry for what i did, and that might have been just enought to make me stop doing it. I told my mom about it and she got scared, she said "Next time you wanna race think about how im gonna feel when they call me and tell me my son has been killed in a street racing accident"..dam that really got to me, im sure thats all i needed to stop doint this stupid sh*t. 🙁

My car's a Mustang 5.0, his car was the Si, but no ricer as i could tell it was modified.
 
Just keep it off your insurance so you're not crying yourself? Ever been to the drag strip? Its a great relatively safe place to race, no tickets, you get a time slip and I think its alot more fun 🙂
 
Well maybe this is a blessing in disguise for you. Street racing is an extremely dangerous activity, not to mention quite stupid. If you wanna race, go to a race track or racing event where you can enter your car in or something. Street racing is all about ego anyways, not skill.

First of all, Layzie, street racing is dangerous and plain foolish. I'm not busting your chops I just want to make sure anyone who reads this doesn't think it is "cool". Layzie knows that I have some fast cars and have built quite a few for friends, but I don't race on the street nor do I condone any of my friends doing so either. We do it at the track, it's inexpensive and safe. Best of all there is no worry of the police ruining your evening. Be aware that in some states/cities the police can legally confiscate your vehicle and NOT return it if you are caught street racing! Layzie, you are lucky you got a contest for speed ticket which is a moving violation only. Depending on where you live, most Police departments arrest you for street racing. BTW Layzie, hows the 5.0 running, I haven't talked to you lately.

Secondly, pamchenko, Layzie can't be a ricer beause he doesn't own or drive a japanese car, he drives a 5.0 Mustang..get your terms right.😉

all i got to say is: GOOD!, my friend died because she was racing. :| its good YOU GOT BUSTED, MAYBE YOU'LL LEARN SOMETHING!:|
 
Usually tracks have competition night with different types of competitions and test n' tune nights. On test n' tunes night everyone just goes out and lines up and runs trying to get their cars dialed in perfectly. To compete though you don't need to be as fast as them to race with them. Sure you might loose heads up races, but alot of the racing is actually where you try to get as close to your dialin time as possible. So if you run 16.12 seconds on a 16.0 dial in and your opponent runs a 11 second run on a 10 second dial in you'll win even though he's faster! Try it sometime 🙂

Ronstang! hey it has been a while, well it real good to hear from you again, i was gone for a long time. I know street racing is stupid and thanks to tonight it'll probaly be the last time I do it. Ive got the 5.0 running great, its tuned up really good and a great racer, I surprised a guy the other night in his Trans Am, didnt win but kept up real good. My tranny went out couple months ago and got it replaced but other than that its really screamin, though i'll let it scream at the track from now on. Again nice hearin from ya.

Im sorry to hear that. But im pretty sure my days of street stupidity are over. THis really scared me, probably because i had never been involved with the law. I can honestly say I kinda felt invisible to cops.

Street Racing is a huge fine... somewhere about 1G, yup that's right, $1000 smackers, mommy and daddy are gonna love that one
 
Something about watching civic's with a park bench on their trunks is hilarous. Something about going faster than them is fun...erg

Anyways, now that read $1k fine...erg, no more for me...

otherwise automatic loss of license for 6 months.. plus heavy fines, community service, dropped from insurance (HIGH RISK).

well there used to be the weekly drags on the weekends at Pomona, but they got shut down. Anybody know why exactly they got shut down? Anybody know if they still hold NHRA drags there? I heard that it was because of all the noise from the cars... but I don't see why if they still hold NHRA drags there why they wouldn't hold import drags there =\
