So I have been looking at road bikes lately... was going to buy a used Oryx from a friend of the family, but ended up finding out from my good friend at the local bike shop they were asking too much, and the frame was a bit small for me. So I managed to spark up a huge deal on this Devinci Silverstone instead.. it has full 105 except for the hubs. (which I forget the name of) I rode it to work today and I absolutely love it! I'm so glad I decided to get a road bike for commuting.. I have a Gary Fisher Supercaliber as well, but that thing's just no fun unless it's on the trail. Anyways, onto the pics!

It's about mid range or maybe even less on the whole scale of road bikes, but for the general population, its a very nice bike.. I'm a rider at heart though and I've always had good quality bikes, just never owned a road bike until now. (might even move up into a better bike later on if I get really serious) but for now it's a VERY nice ride.

whats the specs on the peugeot? age doesn't really matter all that much with road bikes especially, unless you feel the need to save 2-3 lbs on the entire bike.. heh

well i know.. but even at that, an older bike shouldn't be unrideable, hell my '97 model gary fisher works amazing, and i have no plans on upgrading it at all. i still off road with it regularly... 8 years old, works like a charm. but i understand what you're saying.. but it's like saying an Athlon 2500+ would not run games as good as a 3000+, when in fact, it's only a matter of some fps, not a matter of "work or won't work" .. :) i'll shut-up now!

I need to get my bike repaired. Not like I'd ride it in the day though. Just home from work at night. Hop the bus with my bike on the front then ride home in the cool 90 degree overnight low.

it was a super nice ride this morning at just after 8.. i barely even got warm on the ride this morning.. it RAINED this afternoon, wrecking it all.. ended up packing it into a company van and getting myself and the bike home dry... otherwise temps would have been awesome...

I dunno about specs really, but its a fine bike, for what I use it. I got it "recycled" for $100 (CAD). I replaced the chain yesterday, and now it runs nice a smooth. I only ride about once a week though (I use it to get to work, 6km total, but I don't count that...), usually about 40ish km, so I can't really justify getting a nice bike like yours. I would like to though...even if its a ok bike, its a bit on the heavy side and I only have 10 gears (I can't go past ~50-52 on a straight and could use more help on some hills).

in related news, I broke my personal speed records yesterday
http://individual.utoronto.ca/marty/trip.jpg

but that was with the help of a hill AND top gear...
