No. It doesn't exist. Manufacturers are under no contract to provide their services at the same price as their vendors.

Moreoever, who the hell ever goes straight to the Manufacturers to buy something, its always more expensive except in some extremely limited cases.

who would have thought that MAPS would be available from other resellers??

i can understand shoes, cars, computers.....but MAPS? i'm right on this one. i am writing a letter to corporate RIGHT NOW.

it's funny how all the trolls are calling me a troll.
it is not about the $25. it is about the principal. there are principalities involved.

i will suck it up and continue using Garmin, sigh. the product is awesome i admit.

Does it not give you decent directions to get to them? Maybe you need to buy the European map pack?

the principle is that you are stupid and didn't check amazon first. oh, and you're trolling.

...

and those advocating using smartphones.....please. cell phones provide spotty coverage and use up too much of my 'unlimited' data plan. it is not a viable solution. i have my gps on at all times. i will look into magellan.

You can get offline smartphone apps that have all the map data cached in the phone memory. There's trial versions of most of them, you should give them a go.

You think Sandeagle is irate now, what about when he realizes he could have bought an entirely new Garmin GPS-with a new warranty and with lifetime maps-for a small amount more than he paid for the lifetime updates for his old device?

Let me join the chorus that your poor shopping and decision making skills are not Garmin's fault. If by portraying himself as stupid he is trying to make some sort of trolling trade, well then he succeeded on both counts.

The funniest part of this entire SandEagle catastrophe is that he just trolled the Hot Deals forum with a $50 HDMI Monster Cable "deal", then comes on here complaining about making a bad purchase after not shopping around. :D

One thing I don't understand is how you ever managed to get so far in debt when spending $25 too much on purchase drives you off the deep end. :hmm:

That's bullsh!t. Manufacturers would be pissing on their business if they price matched the retailers that offer their products around the world. Wake the fvck up, then grow tf up.

so i purchased their lifetime maps off their website for $89.99. after installing it, i find it on Amazon for $64.95. I called CS and asked if they could refund the difference. they said NO. :( that is horrible customer service right there. i am selling my Garmin and going with a TomTom.

Thanks. Just went to Amazon and bought the lifetime upgrade.
