I find that most people who claim that others in need just 'work harder' or 'get support from people other than me' have never actually been in the shit before. Once you've had a gutcheck of realization that either you're paying rent, or your family is eating, but not both for this month, your opinions on social programs tends to shift.
Or, someone on Disability, that is also working part-time, gets an (erroneous) SSI check for several hundred dollars (a check that they lost originally when they started working), and knows that the gov't will want their money back, but they just want to go to the casino and blow it.

I mean, I'm on SSDI, myself, and I occasionally get scratch tickets (bad habit, I know). I don't go on "casino binges" though like some of my friends do, sometimes with their freshly-deposited SSDI / SSI check (AKA "the rent money").

I have my own spending issues though, and "addictions". (Technology!)

I do buy a lot of tech every month, more than I should. And in some ways, I'm like Azuka, I donate technology to those in less fortunate situations than I. I also order Ramen noodles over the internet by the case.

I generally take care of the technology needs, for many of my friends, and a few relatives. I also donate PCs to an agency that places them with people that have mental health issues.

Thinking of starting a YouTube channel.

Only one party has been puffing up trickle down bullshit since Reagan & it's not the Democrats. Want to know what ails America? Greed at the top. Voting Republican enables it, every single time.

And yet, behold!, IL! A state run by Democrats with an occasional (corrupt) Rep as Gov. What a fine financial condition state! Voting Dem enables it, every single time. (well, in this case, it really does enable it every single time)

It is amazing the degree of indoctrination where you can't recognize it's Elites screwing us, using the Gov (Dems, Reps, their entire system) to happily do it. Do you really think the Dem elites aren't playing the same games the Rep elites are? That the Dem elites are keeping their factory in Red Neck, MO and paying above market wages because Solidarity! and not moving it (happily) to China right along with their Rep elite buddies? Have you met AgentFail? He has the same delusion level, you two ought to hook up and nod at each other... (hey now, keep it clean up in he-ah!)

Didn't even read the story linked in the OP? Apparently not.

But you're here to tell us that you know what you're talking about in reciting the usual litany of right wing talking points. Because it's all about you, obviously.

Is the story in the OP going to change the Reality I've seen with my own two eyes? I'm going to guess No on that one...

Denying their rants about some minority are "only" about said minority is also basically the GOP party line since the 80's.

"I hate them mexican illegals/rapists... Hey I never said only mexicans are illegals or rapists" --every conservative.

So...nothing... :(

On a side note, it does really piss me off that gas stations proudly claim, "We accept EBT". WTF would someone need there? Monsters and candy bars? There is very little that is healthy in a gas station. I have issues with it being allowed there.

I'm waiting for EBT (SNAP, a federal program) to be allowed to buy Lotto scratch tickets (a state-level thing). If only to enact a mechanism for sending more federal $$$ to the states.

Would be crazy if it happened, but given the $$$ motivation, I wouldn't be half surprised to see it.

The local 7-11, run by Indians of course, does have a small setup of fruits and nuts...the must eat them themselves because never have I seen anyone take them. But man, the lottery and scratch off that's played, in such an economically depressed area...where oh where does that money come from?

Back when I cared to even guesstimate, I said I could count the times on one hand I've seen our Links cards used here properly...out of at least a hundred, hundred plus. It is a local, county, state, business "boost" for sale income, abuser for votes and placation, and political for votes and kickbacks broken system. Those three entities, businesses, abusers, and politicians, have absolutely zero incentive to change, which is why it'll remain broke forever, especially here in IL where the Dems are in charge: They would never risk that lower income vote, ever.

The difference is that Dems are willing to pay higher taxes & support more redistribution in order to compensate for changes in the economy. Repubs are ideologically opposed, of course, even though their arguments don't lead to them honoring any sort of social compact or bargain. They want to detach themselves from social responsibility, patriotism, all that jazz & rise above it as the multinational corporate elite, beholden to no govt other than their own creations. The Russians are pioneers in that.

Well you already informed him he's a Conservative and thus just like me, so he already knows what you look like. No need to re-draw his attention...

LOL :D

The other conservatives are also about as good at this as you are.

"LOL, Fail, lazy blacks, durrrr" --conservative mind.

No. No No No No No little Jhhnnie, they are not. They say they want someone else to pay more in taxes. That's not Dems paying more in taxes, that's Dems reaching into other peoples/businesses wallets for more taxes. In the rare event a Dem is actually in the group that would pay more in taxes under their grand 'Never reign in spending, always Spend More!, always Tax More!', they themselves won't pay at the level they believe they should be paying at (meaning: They actually act on their supposed convictions), no, they need the Gov to adopt their proposed plan and force them to pay what they believe they should be paying. Witness: rich Liberals who use their power for propganda, but can't pick up a pen and write a check to the IRS. That you actually believe this is scream laugh worthy.

And right there you might have been in some ways right...but then you blew it...

Right, there are no Dems in the Corp elite, no Dems in the Wall Street elite, no Dems in Corp Leadership, no Dems working on Wall Street, no Dems working as Whore-Legal (aka lawyers) helping all these entities navigate those revenue streams. It's solely Rep owned. LOL, OMG, Russia!

Hey Bro, don't be mad at me because of your Failures. Just because I laugh at them doesn't mean I don't appreciate them! :D:smirkcat:

Only conservatives think acting like a petulant 5 year old is a recipe for success, it comes with the low edu/iq territory.

Post-truth all the way... America is the victim of successful top down class warfare waged by Republicans since Reagan. Conservatives worshiping at that altar of greed unwittingly offer themselves as sacrifice.

It takes a conservative to pretend the conservative media they reliably parrot doesn't tell them what to think. "lazy blacks, welfare queens, something something libtards, etc" --a Real original thinker.

Hey, don't be so hard on yourself (that's our job lol :D), I for one think you're a real original "thinker". I mean, who that has posted here has been batshit crazy enough to think he's historically marking other posters as racist for strawmen he's cooked up and attributed to someone else? We had a JKWhiteGuilter here during the '17 year old thug shot dead' thread and even he wasn't as nutty - see how special (ed) you are? :D
