Ok, So I finally got the money together to build myself a home theater seen in this thread. Well I needed something to house all my components, like XBox, PS2, Gamecube, and HTPC.... so what did I do? I built a coffee table that houses everything. I even put my cable modem and router in there. So without further ado,
Pics of the whole table.
The front components.
Gamecube from the front
Gamecube from the top
UPDATE: system selector and HTPC
Without the table top
Cables out the side
top with projector screen
The gamecube was a pain in the butt to line up and I think it turned out really well... it looks alot better IRL.
I built it completely with a dremel. Talk about worst idea EVER!!!
UPDATE!: Within 24 hours of being complete, I've already added more crap...
Ok so I did a few things to show progress. I made a shelf in the back side of the table to cover up the massive cable hell that lies beneath it. I plan on making the gamecube shelf flush by using pecies of scrap to fill in those holes, I will paint those black.
I painted the interior of the case black (above shelf level) and painted the shelves the gamecube and system selector sit on. I feel it gives them quite the nice touch. I also feel the shelf (which I bought at home depot and happend to be the EXACT width I needed (11.8" weird, eh?)) I feel if I painted that black it would look a little funny. I plan on cutting out a hole in the "wood" shelf and putting in a bucket of some sort to hold the controllers from my video game systems. I have enough room so that when the next consoles do come out that I can simply add more shelving for them. I bought hinges to put on the top of the table so it just lift right up but have not added them yet. I also have a 120mm fan I plan on mounting in the back bottom left of the unit to expel hot air from the HTPC, for all those concerned with cooling.
UPDATE PICS!:
Table with nothing on it
Table with new shelf
Table with new shelf angle 2
Table with new shelf angle 3
