I feel so damn stupid...

Hello, yesterday I was walking in downtown with some of my friends and a homeless guy comes upto us and says he needs to go to the emergency room. He said he cut his hand and needs a bandage, I didn't really look too closely at the cut and I told him where to go. Afterwards my friends told me that guy had AID's (they said a normal person wouldn't bleed like that and the blood was a strange color) and said hopefully you weren't taking deep breaths near him b/c the spores will get into your lungs. I feel so naive for not knowing how susceptable anyone can be to AIDS. I always thought it was only transmitted through direct contact through blood or sex. Fortunately, it was about 30 degrees last night and my friends said there is a very rare chance the spores could survive in that weather. Does anyone know the real chances of me getting AID's in a situation like that (assuming its a warm day)?

I always thought Aids and air didn't go well. The aids infection immediately dies when it comes into contact with air. Am I correct on this assumption?

HIV/AiDS does not spread through "spores." I thought we learned that in the 80's/90's?

A virus doesn't have spores.

You can't tell if someone has AIDS from from how much they bleed.

You can't tell if someone has AIDS from the color of their blood.

Blood doesn't change color if it has HIV in it.
HIV doesn't affect clotting.
HIV doesn't transmit by spores.

If anythnig at all, 'bleeding like that' could indicate hemophilia.

SInce hemophilliacs often find themselves in need of blood transfusions due to excessive bleeding (more often than the general public), it is possible that if the person waws a hemophiliac, and if they had a blood transfusion in the 80's, and if...

You still would need blood to blood contact for it be dangerous to you.

There needs to be some fluid transfer of blood.

I do not think you could get aids by swapping spit (ie, french kissing)

If I remember correctly. You have to drink over 3 gallons of someone's saliva to contract HIV
