I feel bad for my friend

My friend was with his GF for over 3 years. They mutually decided to break off the relationship. I don't know if it was a "lets take some time apart" break or a "it's over" kind of break.

Anyway, they were apart for 3 months and then they got back together 3 weeks ago.

About 1 week ago, she told him that while they were apart she slept with another guy. He has decided that he can't deal with that and their relationship is over as of today.

She obviously isn't in the wrong here (although it looks bad on her to sleep with a guy less than 3 months after ending a 3 year relationship). I think she should have told him about this before they got back together so the relationship didn't get worked up again.

I can understand why he is upset. I wouldn't get back with my GF if I knew she slept with another guy.

I am so sorry for them. I would never let anything get in the way of my relationship with my GF. I would take notes as to what is bad for the relationship and never do those things again. To repeat the same mistake is stupid. I would take notes because of the investment you put into a relationship.

1) This "take a break" sh*t is stupid. Either you are together or you aren't. "Taking a break" means "I want to sleep with someone else but I want to fool myself into thinking I'm not cheating, so we'll 'take a break'". It's bullsh*t. There are no "taking a break"s.

2) If they were "taking a break", why is he so upset that she sought out someone else? Sounds like they weren't so "taking a break" after all. See #1.
