I Don't Understand EBay'ers??

I'm looking at some of the auctions for hard drives. In particular, I'm trying to score a good deal on a 74GB Raptor. But I see a collection of fools paying more than they would have to if they bought from a reputable online retailer. For example, there's an auction ending in a few hours where the buyers have bid the price up to $187.50, and they'll still need to tack on about $18 more for the shipping and required insurance! $205 for a hard drive that is retailing for $180?? I don't get it. 😕

laziness.
it gets brought to them, they don't even have to get up 😛

but seriously, that's why I just ordered one brand new OEM from my supplier, can't score them things much under MSRP anywhere, period.

I think some people just don't like credit cards.. this way they can pay via Pay Pal and have it deducted directly from their accounts.

there's this thing called debit, which can be used at local stores 😛

I'm not sure if this huge store is reputable, so I think I'll just have to trust this guy on ebay. :disgust: People are just stupid

Ebay is second only to AOL in its abundance of n00b morons. They congregate there because its the place to be. Ebay blows now. It used to be like wading through a kitty pool of mud to find that one diamond. Now its like swimming through an ocean on sh|t to find a handful of mud.

yes they are ignorant about what it's supposed to cost. They're probably too lazy to look it up... I mean they're already on the Internet. 😕

Yeah, people for the most part are dumb. It's not their fault, it's genetics and surroundings, and now they've become so good at it that it would be foolish for them to be anything else. 😉

What kills me, too, is the atrocious shipping that sellers charge on ebay. $18 to ship a hard drive??? Okay, maybe if the guy was shipping it to me here in the USA, and he was in upper Mongolia, I could see it. But even if they have to go out and buy the box and packing materials, then ship it, there's NO WAY they're gonna spend $18, short of shipping it 2 day or overnight. :disgust:

There have been plenty of deals that I've seen, where the price on the item (even the buy it now price) is good, but they make up for a good deal with high shipping.......and I've passed every one of them by, for that reason alone.

Luckily, there's still good deals to be found. Like the other day, when I picked up a retail XP2500+ cpu for $78 shipped. Lowest price I found on pricewatch was somewhere in the vicinity of $100. 🙂

I think it's a con..

I think they have multiple user names on ebay for retailers and they bid to raise the prices..
