I dont like Black History Month

Why do we need one specific month devoted to Black History? Shouldnt it be taught to students year round intertwined with European History et al?

i don't know of any school or instructor who only teaches black history in feburary

It is taught year round. Thats the stupid part. The month focuses on certain aspects and areas of it, and is devoted to rememberance. Its not like teachers save all their black history topics/lessons for February.

I wasn't aware those stations were directly marketed towards whites. Yes, there are black people who like country music.

I think the whole argument is total horseshit. "Well, the other 11 months are White History Month." Yeah, right we don't try to point out the accomplishments of people because they were white.

Just a note, my wife is a teacher and is REQUIRED to submit a lesson plan for February that has have her history lessons month appropriate. The sad thing is, the only things many people know about black history is MLK and Malcolm X.
