I was discussing a car purchase with a person and the price I paid came up.
He goes, you paid the same as me for my car. I'm like okay, nice. He then goes on to say that my car is 4 years old and that his is new with a smirk.
That is true but I don't see how that pertains to anything. The entire rest of the conversation I could not help but think... okay you paid for an entry level sub compact with no known reputation (yet) and you're comparing it to my fully loaded touring sedan?
I can see the merits of wanting a new car for some people (Not for me since I can work cars and know how to maintain them) but be realistic, all anyone can say is that they were the same value at a certain time frame simply because one was newer.
People really need to figure valid points of comparisons.
