Why wouldn't you? Isn't it the law?

Yes but i decided it wasn't worth it at the time.

You also won't be able to receive any government benefits later on in life should you need them.

"A non-registrant may not be denied any benefit if he can "show by a preponderance of evidence" that his failure to register was not knowing and willful. Offer as much evidence supporting your case, and as much detail, as possible. "

good luck with that one.

The fact that i can't work for fedral government because i didn't register for selective service. It should not matter if i registered or not, only if i am qualified to work

If you're not responsible enough to register, you're not qualified.

The government finds criminals all the time. What makes you think they won't find a bonehead like you?

I can respect your decision in theory, but you're kind of stupid if you expected to get a federal job. You don't even vote.

edit: never mind. There's no principle behind your decision if you're willing to just flip on it the minute you decide you want something. I'm having a hard time phrasing my next sentence without a personal attack, so let's just leave it here.

But that's the thing, you made it so that you are NOT qualified by not fulfilling your legal obligations. Your finance degree doesn't trump your inability to obey the laws of the land.

Not registering is a crime. Just because you have not been caught and punished does not mean you are not guilty.

The fact you admitted your crime on a public board ...

If you apply in person or send contact information for a job they will likely report you.
And the governments ability to find someone in this country is fair+.

Now if you were going for a political appointment say Secretary of Defense you would be golden.:D
