I didn't know someone can be alive and conscious with half of his body missing...

Somebody just showed me a video of a Vietnamese cop who got hit by a truck that cut his body in half (basically his lower half of the body from navel onward). Through out the video he was conversing with people around him and seemed very calm. I didn't know human beings can live through that and still be conscious, talking, and moving. It was a crazy video for sure. I wonder if he lived.

Why not? Until he bleeds out, he only had his legs, etc., cut off. Not much important below the navel for immediate life functioning.....no lungs, heart, brain, etc., down there.

That has happened in the subways in NYC. When I was younger I remember seeing a story on the news of a man who fell off the platform and got pinched by the train. They had video footage of him smoking a cig, and called his family to come see him cause once they pulled him out, it was all over. I don't know how long he lived like that for though.

Scary stuff.

Assuming there isn't major blood loss/shock there's no reason why they shouldn't be alive. All the vital organs are still in place for a while.

What's so surprising about that? neckarb is dead from the shoulders up and he still posts.

Yeah, as mentioned. Happens in the railroad industry sometimes. You always hear the story about how they got their family out to tell them good bye. When they uncouple the cars, the person dies.

Can I get a link to said video? The shit that should make me turn away in horror actually fascinates me.

For people in these situations, can't you remove the pinching object and just set their torso down on a hot plate or something to cauterize it so you can get them to a hospital?

I've heard the same story.

Just watched the video, looks like no one is doing much in trying to help him.

Wow I just saw it also, amazing no one is doing anything much other than watch him. The way he keeps grabbing himself is disturbing also.

Thanks Olds...

That was...well...fucked up. Poor guy was pulling at his skin where his lower half used to be. I could only imagine the state of shock he was in.

"just relax man, youre gonna be all right...."

amazing that nobody doesnt anything to help, theyre more interested in sticking camera phones in his face. its freaky that he keeps grabbing his organs, like hes checking to make sure no one stole his wallet.

Ugh, I just had to go find that and watch it. I never learn. OP, please don't link this here. Fools like me can google it if they must.
