Trying to fill out my caliber bingo card, so now I have 40 S&W covered. Got a Walther PPQ after some research. I was actually planning on getting a Sig 2022 when I first went out, but they didn't have it in 40 and the 9mm they did have didn't feel right. Too chunky like some of the Glocks.

Anyway this one feels a lot better. Hopefully I'll find out how it shoots tomorrow.

"Research"? Or did you mean that one thread we had on it?

And glocks arent chunky. They are solid.

Oh, and put some militec on that thing. It works.

Glock feels chunky? Christ, don't ever bother with H&K then.

I've been toying with the idea of picking up a Sig in .45 ACP but I already have 2 handguns chambered in .45ACP so it's not as though it is in any way necessary.

No, my own research because I don't remember that thread. And I'd like to find it if the search worked. Glocks just never fit my hand right. The only way I can describe it is "chunky" because they seem thicker than other guns, which is fine for some but not for me. It's not a knock on Glocks they just don't feel right.

You need a 9mm, and a compact .380.

My buddy has an H&K 9mm and it's thinner than most of the Glocks I've handled. So I'm not sure which models you're referencing but that hasn't been my experience.

i see no point in a .40 at all, especially when .45 is about the same price.

i hate buying guns in new calibers because then you have another caliber to buy ammo for. it's expensive enough buying for calibers you already have.

Please explain why you need more than 1 gun to defend your family and such?

When the zombie outbreak finally reaches Japan and we find ourselves fighting radioactive ninja zombies, I suspect you're not going to question the rationality of owning more than one gun.

I've thrown around the idea of getting a scoped rifle, something like a Remington 700, but I don't hunt and the only long range around here is not great. The M&P 15 looks like a fun gun too, chambered in .22 so ammo is cheap, but I really don't have room in the safe for another gun and I can't spend the money right now.

Also got about $4,000 in hospital bills so I suspect I'm not buying anything anytime soon.

I don't. I don't even have a concealed carry permit. I have never bought a gun with the thought of personal protection. It's always for target and trap shooting. And like I mentioned in the OP... I have to fill out my bingo card.

I completely agree. .45ACP is my caliber of choice but I do have a revolver and a lever action rifle chambered in .44 Magnum as well. 9mm is a girl's round. Great intro for people who've never shot a handgun before or a small concealed carry gun but that's about it. I have a fullsize Glock chambered in 9mm but I bought it back in 1993 when I didn't know any better.

A little bit of an exaggeration here. 9mm is a perfectly viable self-defense round. I know what you mean, though, I enjoy 45acp for better stopping power over the 9mm, but a 9mm will more than likely also stop its target, and you get get far more shots before reload with better accuracy between shots at speed. For the better shooter who can handle 45, and handle it accurately, sure, but I still think there's something to be said for the increased capacity of a 9mm. That said, I think my next purchase might be the new XDm 3.8" compact 45. I just wish I could find one to take to the range a bit before I buy.

You don't HAVE to buy ammo for everything you have. Having options means when you find a good deal on a specific caliber, you can cash in. Prices and sales fluctuate all the time from what I see so it's nice to be able to jump on a deal when it springs up. It's not much if you buy just a few boxes at a time, but if you bulk buy with a few people then a flux of a few bucks a box can add up to decent savings.

Shut the fuck up you fucking pathetic excuse for a man. If you don't like guns, don't click on the thread and go back to jerking off over trees and polar bears while taking it in the ass from your Apple loving boyfriend or whatever the fuck people like you do.

winner!

What's that thing below the gun? What's it for?

It's a backstrap, goes on the back of the grip. It comes with a couple different ones so you can fit the grip to your hand. S-M-L
