Maybe you should consider the Police Officers as Jedis. They have a great deal of power and know how to use it.

Cop pulls over a car b/c it's weaving/speeding.

Cop finds out driver is DUI AND is carrying a badge.

Cop lets other cop call friend to pick him up and makes him pull his car off the highway and park it somewhere to be retreived later.

That's the way it works.

Everywhere.

You're considered a real scumbag and therefore a pariah if you bust another cop for something "minor" like speeding or DUI.

Now, a cop dealing drugs or something like that is a different story.

Must be fun being above the law.

I saw this one cop show on Fox where they showed a cop on a traffic stop on the freeway. The cop was next to the driver side door bending down to talk through the window at the driver. Then all of a sudden a car comes zooming past him, which was soo close to the cop that the car actually clipped his gun and ripped items off his belt! If I was that cop, I would have pissed my pants right then and there.
I've seen that clip too... it's exactly the reason why cars should change out of the right lane when they see a cop pull someone over on the right shoulder... and people actually do this.

It?s not so much being above the law as trying to prevent ticket war especially if the cop that got pulled over and cop that pulled him over are from different department. About 3 or 4 years ago a cop pulled over another cop wife, that cop was from different department and the cop didn't know his wife or him. She got a ticket for speeding. When the cop found out that his wife got a ticket, he waited till that cop got off duty and pulled him over and issue him a speeding ticket. This went back and fourth between this two local police department before both chefs had to get involved and put an end to this. So that is one reason why they are not giving speeding ticket to each other.

Now why not giving more serous ticket is because you never know when you will need backup and if you got some cop arrested/made him lose his job his buddy?s will remember that and will respond either slow the next time to your backup request or will just ignore your call for backup all together.
