I cant replace Linux with Win2K... WTF?? HELP!!

All right guys I need some help.

I recently acquired a farked up laptop that the dummy tried to load Mandrake onto. I am going to attept to replace the LCD myself but that is a moot point if I can't get it reformatted with Win2K instead of Linux.

I tried to redo the partition with fdisk but it doesnt let me clear the partition and I cant reformat because of Windows not reading the LINUX partition.

I need some help here! How do I get the LINUX partition removed and replace it with a DOS partition? I tried a Win98SE boot disk but when I run fdisk it just locks up.

Can somebody give me an idea how to do this??!!??
