I can't believe Facebook is as buggy as it is!

I just joined Facebook a couple weeks ago and can't get over how often it DOESN'T WORK! Sometimes it'll load a blank page, chat is just useless, I get notifications days after I've seen the comment, etc, etc...

Has it always been like this? If not, what is the reason? You'd think an advertising gold mine with 350 million users could at least work on a semi-routine basis, right?
 
It wasn't always this bad, but it does pretty routinely screw up nowadays. I don't know what is the cause, but I think its an underlying problem with how they've coded the site. They have way too many privacy controls (that dictate how the site functions) as well as applications and I just don't think they have the resources to handle it all.
 
That reminds me. I hate, ABSOLUTELY HATE, all the application requests I get. Why can't I just turn all of them off? Go data mine the piss out of someone else!

Meh, I've been blocking all app invites for a while now and I barely get any. Personally I'm surprised that they haven't fixed up chat yet to a better standard as well as going to a real email system.
 
Hmmm, I very rarely have problems with it, either browsing the site from my desktop computer or my cell phone.

As for the application requests, I think those are the ones sent by your friends. You just have to select the option to ignore them in the future (yes, annoying as fuck but once you do that for the most common apps you won't see them). If you get a bunch of Farmville bullshit or whatever in your Live Feed, you also have the ability to hide that kinda stuff.
 
headed the way of myspace? i originally liked facebook because it was so simple and you couldn't mess around with it much. Now i guess in order to keep finding a way to make it profitable they want to overcode it to death. Will people move on to the next website?

then facebook went app and update crazy and now its a virus ridden POS
 
This is what happens when somebody tries to do too many things at once. Whatever happened to doing one thing only, and one thing correctly?
 
The problem with facebook is way too many apps for facebook. It over loads the system but those facebook game are a hot money maker. Look at Mafia Wars they have a ton of people playing so everyone jumping the bandwagon to be the next hot facebook game.

And people who like to socially network. *gasp* Talking to friends, getting invited to social events, sharing pictures, and meeting women in one convenient place makes me a "girl/woman/kid". You fail.
 
It works just fine for me. I've never experienced any of these "bugs" except for when they were updating their video uploading service, but now it's fine. I just block all applications when they show up and hardly ever get anything now. I don't know where people get these virus, bugs complaints, but oh well.

if I go meet women on FB I wont be much longer

my real friends will send email to chat or we'll hang out, I dont need facebook walls to keep up with them all.

I wouldnt use it much at all if my wife wasnt all over all the time doing shit.

the picture sharing is a nice plus though, instead of my brother emailing the whole fam pics of his kitchen remodel or a link to a album, it just tells us when he adds pics

if it was more social networking and less JOIN MY MOB IN MOB WARS like it used to be I would dislike it less.

Meh, as already stated, just block each app and the problem goes away quickly. It is annoying though.
